Hi

Mods will not work for e65/e66 ????

I was trying to modify the NAV with customized sky and destination flag as well as a custom splash image. Used navtwek and modified navboot, created, burned it and upgraded the NAV computer successfully. But my mods didn't come. I downgraded to V25 and again upgraded to V32 with my modified images. No luck.
But, the upgrade process was smooth and there was no errot.
It still have the default sky, boot splash image and destination flag etc.

Now my assumption is these modifications work only for MK series Navigation computers and mine is a NAVI03 in e66 and that will not accept these modifications.
If anybody had successfully modified and changed the boot splash and sky on E65/E66 navigation computers ( NAVI01/NAVI02/NAVI03) please shout at me and tell me the secret to get it done.

regards

I had the similar problem - even after the installation of GTK I still received messages that some libraries are missing...... Installation of GTK once again soved this problem, maybe it was some bug....

Try to install GTK one more time

Is it possible to change the boot screen on an MK2? I'm playing around with it right now, trying to figure out what file I need to be in to make changes to the MK2 software.

You could try the same approach as used on Mk3 and Mk4. Edit the GIF.

Make sure you have plenty of Mk2s lying around, it is easy to damage the unit during reflash and thus make the unit unusable...

Haha, already done that once. Had to create a normal firmware disc, remove the nav computer, and manually swap the discs to get it working again.

NavTweak doesn't work on Mk2 boot files, therefore your task will be difficult, as I don't know of any software that can edit the Mk2 usw_load file...

The usw_load file is easy to find:

:\Mk2C\<HW-ver>\BMW\app_sw and the file is usw_load

It is impossible to edit any files for MK2 by Navtweak. You can not do this for MK2
