Just went out to get the disks out of the car & it had finished updating from your original, it is now SW3-1/65 with the Mtech splash.

Funny though, it didn't give the updating screen because I had the key in my pocket!?!

All finished, with a little help from ccfj1 (a lot of help really).
Still a funny install though, it hung on the first install screen, never even got to the progress indicator screen. I waited something like 20 mins, nothing!?!

Again, the nav function was gone & I was back to the light blue menu page.

I recycled the ignition key & it started again & completed this time round...
May be its time to change the old MKIII, she may be on her way out???

It will probably be OK now, the mk3 can be a funny unit and does not really like being updated.

After showing off my new splashscreen at work today, a work mate has asked if he could use the disk on his E46 with a MKIV computer. I haven't given him the disk yet, I thought I'd get advice first.

Is this disk okay for a MKIV as well?

Yes it will work but the splash you have is only loaded in the mk3 part of the OS, the mk4 part is the M logo (I think).
