iPhone thread

According to Verizon exec, the question is 'when' not 'if'.
Prediction is January 2011 release with over 10 million Verizon iPhone to be sold in 2011 including 1 million AT&T defections.

Verizon has been doing dual-mode phones for years starting with a samsung and the blackberry world editions. The costs, however are absolutely atrocious. Even worse than ATT which is a rip off too.

Saw that. I would definitely wait if I were in the market now. Verizon is an upgrade from AT&T. My current BB phone is due up for "new every 2" a few months after the intro. May be my next phone.

If Verizon gets it, there is a chance Sprint will also (both are CDMA carriers). If Sprint does get the iPhone, my son will beg to get one. He loves his iPod Touch (essentially the iPhone without the phone radio). He carries both his phone and his iPod everywhere. This would reduce his gear by 50%. :)

The caveat may be the price plan and whatever
Verizon decides to disable on the device.
(They have done this before)
Oh yeah and I forgot, I need to make phone calls from my house....

I have been waiting for that news. Well since.......since the day I still regret not buying tons of apple stock  I have never held out so long for anything i wanted. A new personal best for me! My area is a verizon only zone haha nada I can do about it. I do not like the term fanBOY:confused: But I am pretty sure I fit the bill as I have been buying apples since day numero uno. My droid is pretty tits tho. Will be a tough call if they have something killer out as well.

I was thinking the same thing since Apple went to the trouble of developing a CDMA version. I'm on Sprint now and intend to stay. I would probably try an iPhone if it came to Sprint. It would integrate well with my iPad, so long as I could still tether (with a jaibreak, no doubt).

Any word on Sprint getting an iPhone?
