As the linked article says:

"Sprint operates the same kind of CDMA wireless network that Verizon does, so the same phone would work on Sprint’s network. We also learned from Apple’s Tim Cook during the event yesterday that Verizon does not have an exclusive deal with Apple on the CDMA iPhone. This can only mean that Sprint at least has the option of making the iPhone available to its customers if it wants to."

It's good that it will available on more carriers...maybe now some stop complaining about ATT and move on to something better...

As for me I stick only to GSM because I travel back and forth across the Atlantic.

I'm planning on making the switch, my droid has been less than impressive :-/

How about that? I guess both AT$T and Verizon now think that like the oil companies, people can't live without premium wireless services so they can now charge whatever they want to and get away with it.

Sprint has been charging $10 more for 4G handsets, even if you live in an area that doesn't have 4G coverage. :tsk: Now, Sprint is adding $10 to any smartphone plan. :tsk: :tsk:

They're all feasting on us consumers. What are we going to do? Forgo cellphones altogether? :dunno:

WiMAX is not HSPDA+ (which is LTE) VZ iPhone does neither.

I originally dumped Verizon for T-Mobile in '03 to have international service. Thats a rip off, so now I just use it for the ability to unlock my phone and stick in my SFR or Blau SIM card and have a cheap phone with internet when I'm over there.

My friend called me and started going on about how he's switching, spending $250 for the ETF, etc and that Verizon offered him $200 for his ATT iPhone. I told him I'll give him $201 and I'll flip it so some european for $500 like my last 3GS. I think its all stupid.

I'm on the verge of just getting by without a data plan..... :dunno:

I jumped on this thread to see who was going to get one. After having both a 3G, 3Gs, and now a android......I'm not so sure I will jump for Big Red iPhone. Granted apps are much nicer and having tunes on 1 device .....I think I may hold off.

FWIW, price hikes are just a norm in life. Just like DirectTV and their @#$@ annual yearly price hikes. When my TV bills start reaching $200, I'm going back to rabbit ears ;-) and Hulu/Youtube.

Until consumer vote with their wallet, prices will continue the trend...

It's like the oil companies. Create an artificial shortage, & charge more,
