I just need to see if Verizon is going to be up to their old tricks
trying to cripple the iPhone like they have with other phones
in the past. And of course there's the price structure. That's why
I said "MIGHT BE".

I just haven't had all the problems others have had with AT&T.
But if coverage is better and there are other benefits then the
maybe may become a reality.

I can't wait for all the AT&T complainers to move to Verizon. My AT&T service should get even better :)

I can tell you that, after having had my iPhone 4 for six months now (with a thin case on), I am VERY happy with the signal strength and do NOT have had any more dropped calls than my Verizon BB has. And this is in the NY Metropolitan area where all reports show that Verizon service is better than AT&T.

I'm even thinking of giving up my work Verizon BB because the iPhone 4 is working so well (and I'm never too far from a PC for email).

I am in the market to buy a used Verizon BB. Let me know.

Unfortunately, I don't own it -- the company does...

VZ stopped crippling features a while ago, my Droid X for example has GPS and what ever APP I choose to download. I am happy with my Droid and will not upgrade for another 10 months.

Tom's Guide said it better than I did and I quote:

"Open question 4: What about the iPhone 5?

Before you run and buy a Verizon iPhone, keep in mind that this is essentially an old phone that will be replaced soon. When the iPhone 5 is released, you will be locked into a 2-year contract with no way to a reasonable upgrade. If you want the new iPhone when it comes out, the upgrade could be rather expensive. The timing for the introduction of the CDMA phone is rather awkward and create a huge mess for Verizon. We know that Apple only cares about itself and will launch a new product when it is ready - not when its partners are ready. AT&T was forced to bend to pressure from its customers when Apple introduced the iPhone 4 at a time when it interfered with the traditional 22-month upgrade cycle and Verizon could see a similar scenario. For all those who can wait half a year, the advice can only be to not buy the Verizon CDMA iPhone, but wait for the iPhone 5, which we should get by mid-2011.
"

I plan to purchase an iPhone 5 when that appears. Either I'll sell my iPhone 4 or pass it along to my wife... (I am upgrade eligible on AT&T through my wife's iPhone 3G.)

And now the pros and cons.. Apparently it will not allow data and voice at the same time. What Verizon's network can -- and can't -- give iPhone users | Phones | iOS Central | Macworld

11:29AM We missed a few questions... nothing major -- some pricing talk (none of which were really commented on).

Q: Experience is so paramount at Apple... GSM allows data and voice... how does that experience feel here?

Tim: I think people place different emphasis on things -- I can tell you that the number one question I've gotten is when will the iPhone work on Verizon. I couldn't be happier to tell people that. They will make those sorts of tradeoffs.
