I have noticed that when I try to turn it on, after it has gone into a sleep mode, usually after 12 hrs or so, the audiotext will not show up on the screen and also the steering wheel functions will not work. I will have to unplug the ipod, turn it on, then plugged it in again. The ipod will then go back to the first song played it was last time booted. I disconnected the main unit and then plugged it in again, but this keeps occuring. Any suggestions? Thanks.

This is the iPod going into deep sleep mode, cutting the link between the iPod/DICE. Turn on the iPod before starting the DICE if it has been down for some time.

I now have a 04 X5 with DSP & Navigation but my old 330 didn't come with either. The question is, can I just buy the $80 DSP module and use it with my old DICE kit even though I now have nav?

You may not need the DSP adapter depending on if you have analog or digital DSP. Read this article for more details: http://www.europeanautosource.com/su...mod_id=2&id=11

Otherwise, the same DICE from your 3-series can be used.

I don't see a DSP cable, you should be analog.

Tom, do you have a link to the users manual? I forgot how to get it to display text initially.

Has anything changed within your audio or electrical system since installation? If not, we can have your module tested to see if there is a problem.

I've got a question about the DIP siwtches. Should ALL of the switches be in the off position, or just the 2 switches on the left?

Sure - what Generation iPod and firmware are you running?

Homework for Tom! :)

Considering the Dice will probably charge the iphone

A) will it plug into a Dice for music? that would be sweet

B) who wants to figure out how to hook a mic up to it?

C) who wants to get the phone book up on the X5 display?

How cool would that be to get Mp3/ipod input, and handsfree phone from your Dice?

Maybe just wishful thinking.
