ok... i installed the kit in less than five minutes ... the sound quality is awesome compared to what i had before (FM Transmitter then connecting to the A/V input on the back of the center console) ... I get the text scrolling on the instrument cluster.. and I am so happy and satisfied so far.. Thanks a lot Tom for your fast service and continuous support...
Only two main issues need to be answered by Tom: - When I press CD 2 to browse playlists the playlist names does not show on the information cluster, why? The same applies when I try to browse album names (CD 3). It is really important to get the playlist name. - Each time a new song starts, a drop on the volume happens for a second then it comes back to normal. Is that normal? |

Audio dropouts can happen from not disconnecting the battery, here's what I recommend: 1. Disconnect iPod from cable 2. Remove battery cables, negative first 3. Touch battery cable terminals together (away from battery) for +5 seconds, a small spark is normal as this is stored power draining from the system. 4. Allow cables to remain disconnected for about 5-7 minutes 5. Reconnect battery cables onto battery, negative last. 6. Reboot iPod by pressing on MENU and CENTER buttons for +5 seconds and then reconnecting to the DICE cable after the reboot process is completed. Let me know if these steps correct the problem. |
Thanks Tom I'll try that... another thing, when I choose to show the text on the NAV screen it does not show correctly (i have 4:3 screen). Any recommendation to correct this?

Dice Not Recognized
Tom,
I installed the Dice about 2 weeks ago and I am very happy with the results. The sound quality is 100x better than the FM modulator. Last night I was listening to the Ipod on the way home. I pulled into the garage and shut off my car. I immediately turned on the ignition because I was getting a "Check Rear Lights" message on the dash. I noticed that the Dice did not initialize and it went to the radio. When I try to select the Dice from the source button, I only get the radio and tape deck. I've made several trip including this morning and still no Dice. I checked the connections to the modules and everything seems to be okay. Should I try disconnecting the battery and rebooting the ipod per your earlier instructions on this board? TIA, Richard |
