Hi Tom,

I just received the Silverline Pro + DSP yesterday, and I'm having some install problems today. It's going into a 2006 X5 w/ nav.

I've taken the DSP module out of the equation to try to simplify troubleshooting.

When I browse to Disc 6, I just see * DICE * on the nav display. I select track 2 (have titles displayed on the nav), then plug in my iPhone 3G and go to Disc 5.

The iPhone will display the "Accessory not made to work with iPhone" message. Occasionally it will start playing a track (I'd say once out of every four times that I plug in the iPhone). There are no track/album/artist titles, it just says the track number on the nav.

If I advance the track number using the buttons on the radio, the song doesn't change. There is a slight delay, and then it picks up playing the same song again (the track number will change - just not the song).

If I leave the DSP in the equation, I just get a beeping/static type noise that goes in and out a few times per second.

Thanks in advance!

EDIT: I think I'm half way there. I moved both of the iPod switches to the ON position (they were both off). Now I can control everything from the iPhone touchscreen, and it plays music and works (no title/artist/info on the nav screen, but I can live without that).

Unfortunately DSP still does not work. If I route the 6-pin through the DSP, all I get is the static/screeching noise. I've verified the 12v connections with a multimeter. What else can I try?

Try CD 6, Track 6 to see if the display works.

If I go to CD 6, Track 6 it scrolls through, Core 1.5, Car 1.0, iPod 1.2, Aux 1.0.

I drove around yesterday and I also noticed that when I'm using the ipod, I can't use my navigation. If I press the right side of the Mode button on the nav, the nav screen comes up for a second, then the screen goes back to the CD player screen.

Help!

What you need to do is, go to CD6, Track 6 and then go back to CD1, you will see the track titles then. After you go to CD1, then from there you can go to CD 2 to see your playlists or to CD3 to see the Artists list. Hopefully this helps.

When you are using the DICE the only way to get your NAV screen back is to hit the MENU button and then click on NAVIGATION (i.e., you cannot toggle between the two by using the Mode button, you instead need to go back to the home screen and select gps). This is not ideal, but it is how it works.

That worked. Thanks!

Okay, that makes sense.

Now I just need to get the DSP module working.

Hi Tom
Today I finally received my DSP Kit for DICE iPod Integration Kit, the problem now is: I couldn't find the six pin connector in my 2002 DSP X5!!
Please help again...

That's because Digital DSP equipped X5s do not have a 6-pin connector.

You will be plugging the coaxial connector from the DSP into the amp, which converts this signal to the 6-pin connector that is plugged into the DICE harness.

Tom,

I have the origional Dice in my E46 M3, so I know what limitations it has and I've been trying to read as much as I can about the Silverline Pro. I also have an '08 E90 M3 with I-Drive and 99% love the Ipod interface. The questions I have are:

1. (which I believe the answer is no) With the Silverline Pro, with a MKIV Nav unit, can you do searches using & selecting Artist on the Nav screen like the new I-Drive Ipod interfaces?

2. I saw the whole CD 1-6 and all that, but while one song is playing, can you search for a certain song (via artist but without going through the album) & NOT play it until you select it?

3. If you ONLY want to use the Nav interface & not the Ipod itself, Is the ONLY way to pic a song (not having to figure out what album a certain artist has a song on) manipulate your iTunes and delete the album titles? or is it by playlists?

DICE will not work on e9x vehicles - look into the mObridge kit instead:
