My point was only that the UK did not engage in a conflict that broke any laws (as someone stated), since the Geneva convention is for war conduct and the UN is powereless to enforce the Charter, that makes the charter more worthless than the paper it's written on.

Laws are easy to make, and easier to discuss. They are much harder to enforce, How can a law be broken if there is no one to enforce it? No enforcement = no Law.

It's been almost ten years since I visited the Vatican, but I think I remember the verbage from the tour guide: the Swiss guard are men of Swiss citizenship who are trained in the use of traditional edged weapons, not rifles, handguns, etc.

i was under the impression they are fully trained military personel hired to protect the Vatican but as i've never personally been i'll take your word for it. Thanks

actually looking at charts like that just make you realise how good us Britains are what with our tiny wee island and even more tiny budget.
