New TV thoughts?
I'm looking at getting a new TV in a couple weeks, and think I have narrowed it down to 3 choices...
First I will say that I like the picture quality of plasma better than LCD, and I have a 1080i projector for my few HD needs, like playing PS3 games and bluerays on a 102" diagonal screen on the wall... I just can't afford to continue watching it as my daily TV as it goes through a bulb a year that way, and at $360 a bulb it gets expensive... This will be for watching my standard definition basic cable, which plasma does much better/smoother than even 120hz and 240hz lcd's as basic cable is broadcast in 60hz anyways and the "600hz" plasma makes it look smooth as silk with the 10 pulses per framerate. Please let me know of any personal experience with any of these models and/or any opinions/thoughts. #1: A 720p Samsung unit that was listed on this site for $749 yesterday (which luckily I printed for pricematching reasons as the price is higher today) Samsung PN50B450 50" High-definition Plasma TV |BuyDig.com #2: A 1080p Samsung unit that is listed at $790.64 (also printed out) samsung pn50b530 50 plasma tv - 50 - atsc, ntsc - 16:9 - 1920 x 108 Lowest Price #3: And a 720p Panasonic unit that is only $670 (also printed out) Panasonic TC-P50X1 50" VIERA High-definition 720p Plasma TV - TCP50X1 - TCP50X1 I'll try to get the one decided on through the local best buy if they have no problem pricematching it. (which they shouldn't) I'm kinda leaning towards #2 just because it's 1080i, but as I said the resolution doesn't really matter that much in my case and I'd rather get a different one if it is better quality otherwise...
