That's amazing (and not Ina good way).

I had to replace my lock to DLA guts about 4 times. I kept a spare in my glove box. When my key remote stopped working the key would last about 1000 actuations. At least in the end I could tell from the feel it was starting to fail.

Just remembered that when I was changing the glow plug module I noticed a loose vacuum hose under the intake side..wonder what is it for. One of the lines that was coming around from the rear of the engine..

Are you sure you're not talking about the front diff vent hose?

Absolutely, that hose is different and is well in its place. This is definitely a vacuum hose that got loose from something, e.g. the end of it has burst wide open.

Firstly, any loose vacuum hose/port needs to be plugged, or the vacuum system won't operate correctly.

Secondly, has something been removed? EGR? Swirl flaps? :dunno:

Yeah, didn't think about plugging it at the time as was busy with the glow plug module :dunno:
Nothing's been removed, EGR as it is, intake is without swirl flaps from factory..guess I'll have to get into some troubleshooting

345 miles in two days running around San Antonio. Wow! Heavy traffic and moving. At some points, it was cruising 80 MPH to keep up with traffic. It likes the high RPMs. I was nervous the coolant pipes wouldn't hold up. No problem. I'm replacing the pipes asap. After that, trying out the 4X2 mode. It kicks in at 115 MPH.
