Whoa. What brakes are those?

They're from F15 X5 M50D. Not real M brakes, but a notable upgrade.

Front 385x36 Standard discs,Floating single piston calipers
Rear 345x24 Standard discs, Floating single piston caliper

The pads are almost twice the size of the original. The rear calipers are MASSIVE compared to the originals as well.

Those look expensive! Bolt-on or mods needs? My little 17" wheels would not clear those serving-platter rotors.

And I have not heard of "Barum" tires in decades. They were on Jawa motorcycles (from then-Czechoslovakia) we sold at my dad's shop in the 1970s.

The total cost for hardware was around $1.5k, I haven't kept track for the sake of my sanity :) I have a pallet full of mods to be installed.. New performance cams, intake manifold, injectors etc. Too much to list here.

Rear calipers need a little machining to be correctly positioned. Original brake guardsfrom e53 need to be used in order to keep the original emergency brake hardware. Fronts need no modifications, rears need to have the edge to be cut off to clear the bigger disks. Barum makes pretty decent winter tires, didn't know they were originally a czechoslovakian company.. wow

Still are, even after acquisition by Continental.

new radiator hose, pulled it off and still had the BMW OEM logo so assuming this one is from 2004 lol it was leaking so replace that along with brass bleeder screw

added LED license plate lights, got error codes so reordered some JDM brand ones from amazon that hopefully will be error free

Changed the power steering fluid on my car. I used Mobil 1 Fully Synthetic transmission fluid, the steering feels super smooth, but I think the tire pressures are off. I've put very non-standard tires on my car so I have to play around with the pressures until I get it right

I think the cold/warm test can be coded out so you don't have to use wasteful led lights (the special LED that don't cause errors use a bigger resistor that consumes 8x as much power as the LED so the car thinks it is an incandescent lamp).

This week the X got paint corrected, and 2 coats of ceramic were applied.

Installed a backup camera and CarPlay. Next up passenger side mirror glass.

noted, do any of you gents use Carly app, that's the most common one I've heard great reviews for BMWs in terms of OBD scanners
