One question - do you just force the larger OD flange of the Powerflex bushing through the tension arm hole? Every other bushing I've seen in this type of application has been split, but this is one piece. Does the flange compress enough?

Yes, and it's a pita as it keeps wanting to go in off center. I finally figured out that if I used a small screw driver (flat blade) to push the bushing edge in and kept going around the circumference of the bushing it'd work better. Hopefully these bushings outlast the X as I don't want to have to mess with them again (I'll just order the pre pressed ones from Bimmerworld if I have to do it again.).

Busy today on upgrading my X. :D Install 4.8is rear flares and bumper valance. Purchased flares from TwinTurboGTR. He went out of his way to pick and ship all the parts I needed. Thanks! :beerchug: Added 25 mm H&R spacers. Added reverse camera. I though about placing the camera in the center of the trunk emblem but decided on the license plate. :D

.........

The large flange will push thru the CAB bore.

From post #3602.......
To install the Powerflex bushing, I used a 1/2 X 7" bolt/nut/washers with my 1/2 drive metric oil filter canister socket on the bushing and a 3X3 3/4" steel plate clearance drilled for the 1/2 bolt on the control arm, I installed with the greased steel sleeves inside the bushing to help guide the bushing along the bolt.

Thanks guys for the compliments. I'm looking to add the front skid plate to finish the front. I order one from Clockwork's thread. Hopefully, it will be finished sooner than later...

Did an oil change on the weekend. Last one was done by shop when I got it, so this was my first. I was amazed at how fast 8L can expunge itself from the bottom of the vehicle. My catch tray funnel neck was no match and it made for a nice clean up exercise after. Lesson learned.

I also wanted to drop the pan to check for plastic/metal bits as I've only had it for 10,000km now. Time was a bit tight and most recommend replacing the pan bolts with new/coated ones, so I held off until next change when I can get the bolts.

Changed the tires:

got Delinte Desert Storm in factory spec'd staggered sizes off "buywheelstoday" off ebay for $526 delivered

Had Tires Plus mount and Road Force balance them for $156.94 out the door with the taxes and what not...

so far the ride is quiet, we'll see how they will hold up the long use...

previous tires, the Toyo Proxes II were installed at 72557 miles and went completely kaput (metal carcass showing on rear right, with others not far behind) at 111670...

39113 miles, just a bit shy of 40 K miles...
