279,891 km. I do some of my maintenance and repair. Will be doing some scratch repair this week, as well as replacing a hood latch cable and the upper hatch actuator.
Runs like a BMW ;)

I'm at 182,000 but just spent $4000 in repairs.

Wow, now I don't feel so bad for the $1200 or so I've spent over the last 6 months.

TIming chains, gaskets, heads, lifters, fuel pump, rebuilt tranny, new rear air bags, brake pads all around and just yesterday a upper radiator hose project. The joys of a 12 year old car.

smwmustang, I remember reading your story, your x is beautiful but damn 4k :wow: Thats one expensive redhead you got there haha

I always smile at the end of a bmw commercial when they say,"The ultimate driving machine" which is true...
it most certainly isn't "The ultimate reliable machine" lol

Just cracked 280,000km. Was gurgling a bit after the engine flush, but has settled down. Gotta get around to doing the belts and pulleys soon.

Coming up on 109K miles on 2005 4.4. We love the vehicle and take impeccable care of it but say a Novena every time we go to start it that no issues will be present. We bought it CPO that has since expired so every repair starts at $1K and goes up from there.

Since buying we've had:
* Intermediate levers (twice) 1st time CPO, 2nd time warranty for 1st time
* Transmission at 95K our of warranty due to time - Dealer wanted $10K, we paid less as BMWNA stepped up to the plate. Still paid $K's. I think BMWNA helps due to this being our 4th BMW. We've had E38, E39 and E90 in the family all bought at the dealer. They also got all the service.
* New ECU, fuel pump, and entire intake manifold at 102K. Was going to be $5K and once again BMWNA helped and we paid less but still measured in $K's
* New plugs, filters etc... $500. I expect this as maintenance
* Brakes & tires all around. Again expected
* Oil leak - valve cover gaskets. I forget how much

Now it's going through oil at about 1 quart every 1K miles. Not leaking anywhere so burning it. It also is starting to have a diesel like clatter at start up until warm. I think my tappets are flapping around a bit. It's summer here in NH so I think I'll put some 10-40 in it.

All that said, I just spent over 3 hours of love and attention with full interior and exterior detailing. I'm a full on Griot's Garage guy so all their products. It looks great, I just hope it keeps responding to the Novenas. The next big thing though it'll be traded.
