Term is correct---oopsie

I purchased a Mann fuel filter with pressure regulator built in on Amazon for $50 bucks. UPC 4011558937003

Could it be faulty or wrong pressure regulator?

Maybe I should get a Beck Arnley UPC 049797994932

it should be correct filter... OEM, not OE but still, correct...

I check the application chart from your link, it checks and according to realoem there was only one filter offered that year. I checked bavarian autosports site. The list only one filter and it is the correct BMW part number, however, it is $64.

Is your X worse, different or the same than before you changed the filter?

I was Reviewing the fuel lines coming into the fuel filters, one is a return line to the driver side of the tank, and the other is the line coming from the fuel pump. There were no instructions on the fuel filter itself indication which of the two ports was to which.

I'm just double guessing my work now and maybe the fuel filter installation was incorrect. When I removed the old filter, I did it line by line. In fact, I made sure that I connected the pressure regulator first, and then I installed the fuel line (left to left, right to right) as it looked like from the old filter.

The problem is I had the original issue, then I replaced the fuel pump and issue was gone. I then replaced the fuel filter (about a week/2 weeks later) with the fuel rail (I broke the schraeder valve on the old one) and then about 800 miles later I started getting the no power symptoms again.

If the symptoms were the same before the first fuel pump replace as when they returned and one of the fuel pumps fixed the problem for 800 miles. the logical conclusion is that the fuel pump is bad again. That is strange but not the strangest thing that has ever happened.

The line were were discussing is a vacuum line for vapor that connects to the smaller tube that exits 90 degrees out the side of the regulator portion. The line to the engine exits straight out from the fuel filter portion.

The two tubes exiting from the bottom are fuel lines. The lines are not identified as from tank or return line, just fuel lines.

This is per the Bentley manual.
