Last I knew you were beside yourself. Did problem go away or did you find the solution?

Still beside myself about the car not working. Just had other things on my mind.

So I didn't see any thing wrong with the relays but I am going to replace them with some relays I got on Amazon for 6 bucks when they arrive.

So I noticed a couple of things:

I see pictures of this type of fuel filter that has the pressure regulator, as well as another coupling for what I am guessing is a vacuum line.

In real oem, it looks like this:

No vacuum line. Now, when I replaced the filter, it looked like the real OEM version without a vacuum. Are there different fuel filters for different X5s?

The realoem drawing shows as the only fuel regulator offered for 3.0 that year. That should mean you have the wrong regulator. I would guess the vacuum line is part of the system to regulate fuel flow demand.

Did your old regulator have a vacuum line?

No. The old (and new) fuel filter looked exactly the same. Two ports at the bottom, 1 at the top coming out of the regulator.

Check the part number--it should be 13531436110 if I wrote it down correctly.

I must be mistaken about the vacuum line.

Pressure regulators are built into the fuel filters though.

part should be - 13321709535

the 110 - is listed as pressure regualtor, while the 535 is listed as filter WITH the regualator built-in...
