^^^ Got you. You're right about taxes. I didn't mean to say that you are complaining, I meant to say that we all should be happy that we pay so much less here in US. At least I am!!! You're right with those 501's

No problem. Trust me, I understand what you are saying. Alot of my friends here in Europe, and when I tell them how much I paid for my wife's 325i and the new X5 35i SA that I just ordered, they are like, whaaaaaaaat.

Just to give you an example, I paid $59,610.00 (no taxes) for a 2012 BMW 35i SA with CP, CWP, TP, Running Boards, Multi Countour Seat, BMW Apps, and Premium Hi-Fi. Same car here in the Netherlands is over 120,000 Euro's, which is around $140,000. Unbelievable.

The online configuration is gonna seem odd. The 2012 brochure .. Etc.

Build your own 2012 x5 (so long as it's not a diesel, in which case its 2011).

Is this really the case ?

Maybe I missed this but has anyone ordered a diesel just recently now slots would be for April may etc. Is it a 2011 ?

GlenJr's335d 04-03-2011 10:36 PM

That's what I have been told, I get my vin issued on the 13th and scheduled complete day is the 20th of April.

Someone on this forum stated that the only difference between the 2011 & 2012 is the headlight assembly, I drove a rental 2010 X5 diesel back in August in Stuttgart which had the upgraded headlights already so I wonder what the hold up is, most likely the D.O.T.

Sure sounds stupid but I guess that's how it works same assembly line the only difference is a engine a few stickers and programing the computer for diesel. No spark plugs involved because a diesel only needs air, fuel, and compression to run oh and a battery for the switch that turns off the fuel valve.

OH ich sie bekomme, verlor seine Übersetzung in.....

So why exactly is the diesel staying a 2011?

stevenix 04-04-2011 10:23 PM

I received an email from BMW Dallas that they finished building my 012 X5 early and it should be on a truck to Dallas if there are no delays on the EPA certs for the new model. These are going to be a looooong days until it gets here.
