I didn't. Called the 1-800 number. What's odd is it started production yesterday and has an estimated completion of March 8. Anyone know when the 2012 builds start?

close to March 22 – Production begins on the 2011 X5

New model production always starts on Monday...so March 28th or April 4th. Should be able to order in first half of March.

Next step is to get the invoice pricing. I also wonder if the Eco credit will still be available.

Most probably will be there, probably reduced in amount.

Aluminum trim returns to the diesel for 2012.

Sounds good, I'm interested. Really want to do PCD and as a spring vacation. It'd be great to be able to order and then pickup in July.

If you order soon and 2012 production begins in April, pickup should be in May, not July.

Regarding Spartanburg, SC, the weather is probably nicer in the May, June time frame anyways. By July, expect lots of days in the 90s.

I am mildly annoyed now. Don't get me wrong, I'm happy, but..

LED lights would be awesome - this is the only thing I envy in Audi owners.

Side camera was not available when I ordered mine, but since we can't get the system they can get in Europe where it will "read" the signs and tell me what the speed limit is, eh.. (at least, that's what I read)

The "new" premium sound system is interesting.

Oh look.. YOU CAN GET THE CARGO COVER AGAIN. <sigh>

I would have liked the new rims too.. Don't really like the ones that came with the Premium.

This is my first BMW, but do they ALWAYS do this? Major updates in the middle of model years, etc.

They make minor changes almost every year. Some years more than others. Last 3 years of model is when they keep adding to standard equipment. They probably will have convenience pack next year(last model year) for free with few options, they had done that for E60 5-series.

Talked to one dealer today and the sales person said they have no idea about the upcoming changes for X5 35i and 2012 won't be out for "another 6 months". Will wait for a couple of days and see if any updates on BMWUSA.
