Product Planning & Strategy Bulletin
Model Year 2012 X5 & X6 Ordering and Pricing February 24, 2011

Last year BMW launched the face lifted Model Year 2011 X5 models and the response has been overwhelmingly positive. The new more powerful engines combined with the 8-speed transmissions
EfficientDynamics.
For Model Year 2012 we will keep this momentum including adding the LED corona rings as standard to the X5 models. The LED lights give the vehicle a new cleaner look to the headlight array.

We are also pleased to announce that we will build even more value into our X5 and X6 models by increasing our standard equipment profile. What we have done is taken our most frequently ordered equipment and made it standard for less than the price would have been for the option. Below is an example how we've increased value ....

2011 E70 is the official LCI. LED Corona Rings come out for the 2012 model!!! Europe got LED rings for 2011. This really does piss me off. The LCI model should of had this. I've had my 2011 LCI for TWO months, and now with the LED rings, I will have an "old & dated" model. Gee, thanks BMWs. I feel jipped on my $70k E70!! :(

Do the new headlights actually look different or is it just the color of the halo?

Why no adaptive drive? It's a great feature.
Plus the Z4, X3, F10, etc have even more adjust-ability. Yet they are taking it away from the X5????

Sooo does this mean we get rear air or air springs all around like the 4.8is? (adjustable please!)

I wouldn't feel jipped. Hell, mine was delivered yesterday, and although it stinks I was "oh-so-close" on the 2012's, I am sure I will love the 2011 just as much.

You have replaced your bulbs on the halo's, yes? I will be pestering you in the near future on how and where to do the bulb changes. :D

Can someone explain how they're different or show where I can see pictures? Is it really that big of a deal?

It's still an option. I have PDFs of the order guides for 2012. Dealer just emailed them to me.
