Would I get arrested for pummeling the driver who did this if it were my X6?

Drove it in the snow for the first time. The dmv2 blizzaks were very confidence inspiring. I felt like I was in complete control up to 40mph in about 3 inches of snow.

I definitely felt the rear biased xdrive in a parking lot with ice all over.

I just drove through the recent snow storm in the Northeast - right through it - from Maine to New Jersey. Started out as light snow then heavier and then gigantic fluffy flakes that transitioned to ice pellets and then sleet and finally to rain. I must have had 1/8" or more of rime ice all over the truck, over the headlights and filling in the fog light recesses and clogging the radiator. It started running a little warm. Well, warm for the -6C outside temperature.

I wanted to save the miles on my winter Michelin Latitude X-Ice Xi2 so I put on my all seasons a couple of days ago. Those are Michelin Premier LTX and they are quite good in the snow and ice for an all season as I found out definitively this morning.

I want to try the Blizzaks but I'm afraid of changing from what I know.

Now just don't look at how much you can sell it for... It's a little discouraging.

Indeed, went through that with my 2002 E53 in 2016 when I was using it to reduce my X3 lease cost. Got a whopping $3K and the dealer was being soooo generous, just ask him. But I had about 140K miles, that's the way it goes. E53 was getting pretty needy at the end, anyway, did the "normal PCV" bypass to keep it from smelling like burned oil. Hope the E70 fares better.

I got back to NJ from a mini vacation in LA, and drove it home last night. Tonight I'm going to be replacing the fog light that's out, and I'm thinking I'll look to see if the tailgate light is out or if the housing is shot from water. I kind of think the bulb just went out, but I'm not sure.

Today I'm tuning my X5d's trans with sutphin's tune! I've only heard great things, so I'm going for it. The oem tune on the tcu is a load of buttocks.

First Oil Change on the new to us 35d..
used BMW 0w30 LL04 Oil, BMW filter, and added magnetic Drain plug..

Topped off the DEF tanks..
3.5 gallons was not enough to completely fill both tanks, so I guess I'll have to order more..

Been having an off and on Check Engine light..
Been off for awhile, but came back a couple of weeks ago, and seems to be staying on now..

P045F -Exhaust Gas Recirculation B Control Stuck Closed

Noticed oil around the EGR valve area when doing the oil change (See photos), thoughts? :dunno:

perhaps it's time for an EGR delete

Perhaps, and a Stage I (or II?) tune at the same time, but not sure how hard a sell that will be with my wife, as it is her daily. Definitely not going the DPF delete, she will no longer drive it if it smokes and smells..

Just not clear where this oil came from. Maybe it was just oil filter spillage remnants from a previous oil change, but that is awfully far away from the filter housing, and on both sides of the EGR?

Guess I need to get some time to clean it up really well around the area, and see if it returns. That wouldn't be from an OFHG leak, too high and forward, right?
