Took delivery on Wednesday. 2009 xDrive35d with 120k miles.

First thing on the to-do list is replacing the thermostat/water pump as the coolant temp is struggling to stay above 70C.

Then I'll be going through the brakes, as they are a little throbby despite low miles on them.

Next up, new rear air springs. They droop overnight.

Then, here eventually, I hope to do a DPF delete.

This is my wife's DD and our family truckster, so anything I can do to maximize the MPGs from the diesel is key.

Should I do an introduction thread? I've been lurking on here a while, but now I'm officially an owner!

Tossed in a new coolant reservoir and bled out. The shop apparently likes green crap coolant so I'm planning a full flush and fill soon with BMW blue.

Debadged trunk and doors - much more satisfied with the clean look now (been doing it on all my cars since I was 17 and this is the 3rd car I've done for my wife since we started dating in 2011)

Now the amber front is screaming at me, I need to drop the bumper and install the IND color matched side markers I bought (rears I already installed)

Put an absorbent mat underneath to catch the drip or two of oil coming from the passenger front corner of the car. Too bad it snowed today, it makes it a little messy to crawl under there and see what's going on. I'm just wondering if it's still remnants of the oil dropped when I changed the oil filter adapter housing and oil cooler gasket. But that was a month ago period I would think all that would stop by now.

Did some mild off-roading in the X. Got a new set of the re-designed Continental DWS Extreme Contact tires a few days ago. So far I like them. They handle mud half decent at least...

I frequently visit construction sites due to my work and came across an exceptionally large mud-pit of a site and decided to have a minute of fun before I left. The site was empty at the time so no one there to yell at me. (evil laughter)

Finally mounted my new wheel setup. 20x11 Style 214 on all four corners, wrapped in 295/40R20 Falken FK-453 tires. 3mm spacer up front to clear knuckle, and a 30mm H&R spacer in the back to match. Nevermind the dirty paint... Went snowboarding over the weekend. ZERO rubbing whatsoever.

I don't think anyone has ever tried this fitment setup before... Happy to set it works great, allows for tire rotation, cheaper tire options, and a slightly taller sidewall for comfort.

Hopefully will be installing new thrust arms with monoball bushings tomorrow. Should help keep the 295's up front nice and stable. :driver:

Diving in on my water pump job. Would like to hear everyone's comments on this discovery:

So, this morning I started taking some of the plastic bits of the front of the engine in preparation to start in on the water pump/t-stat job later.

I noticed that the front of the engine is covered in what I can only describe as rusty water stains. I hope its just a sign that the water pump is past-due, but I was wondering if it is maybe a sign of EGR cooler failure??

Any comments there would be appreciated.

Interested in your review of them. I Put moniballs in the trailing arms of my E46... made a huge difference.
