KERS will be interesting for sure in an M car. Nice to see them implementing it even as they drop it for their F1 cars.

I wouldn't say sub 4.5 seconds is "slow as hell off the line" for a decent sized sedan. I know the MB's and CTS-V are faster, but M has never really been about huge torque figures. More about higher revving, higher speed performance. That is why the M5 typically beats MB's when it comes to track comparisons. I would guess that torque will be bumped significantly with the new TT though.

I hear you about typical BMW brakes when it comes to track days. As good as the brakes are on the road, fade during track days has been a complaint for a while now. Even on M cars with stock equipment.

again.. sounds like you have never driven or owned an e60 m5. NO TORQUE. 0-60 is all about traction and not as much about HP and torque so the numbers you are quoting and making assumption thereof is irrelevant.

I don't care what Cadillac says, they still look cheap inside and out when compared to a BMW and especially to a Merc E63!!!! It can be fast as hell, a la Vet, but if it looks and feels cheap... What the hell is the point. Another think I don't like about Caddy is that the average person will NEVER tell a regular CTS vs a V. At least BMW and Merc look the part.

Damn that car looks sexy!!!!!!! I have never seen rotors that close to the rims, I love it!

For the RARE times i've tracked any of my cars, i'd rather have street performance all day long. If I wanted to rev the piss outta my car to get any power from it, i'd have bought an S2000.

Yeah or an MB. That may be the better choice. BMW's have never been drag racers first, complete cars second.

I wonder what that's going to do to the weight of the M5. Even the current E60 M5 isn't exactly what you'd call.......light. As much of a performance car as it is, I wouldn't buy one as a "sports car". I'll take a M5 Touring for the hilarity of it, but for an executive sedan, a 550i suffices. Or a 540i for that matter. If I wanted a sports car, an M3 is good enough for me.
