HA! I know one of the guys in a photo above! He took me for a ride in a US spec M6 a couple years ago on the Autobahn and country roads north of Ulm. It was absolutely the most afraid I have ever been. If I didn't know he was an M test driver I would have asked to get out!

I knew he had the skills to control the car. I understand the level of competence needed to achieve his position. I am in awe of his skills, and would love to have his job! It would take years of training for me to be able to do what he did so effortlessly.

All fast driving was done inside the laws of Deutschland.

I would also trust Sabine on the 'Ring. A guy from Jersey?

I think that may be an air bubble? It looks offset, and different shapes in each picture. Strange. Also notice the suspension heights. The middle picture shows a large gap between the tire and the fender. Maybe some form of ride height adjustment, like the Lambo Murcielago does for curbs?

Weasel will become famous soon enough
It could be a bubble, could be some extra cladding to throw us off, or could be a bulge to make room for some turbos...

But for the suspension height, the lower looking pics are when the car is hard in the turns so the suspension is compressed. (no ARS on the test mule)

There is a V8 not a V10 in the new M5
Sources Confirm Turbocharged V8 for 2011 BMW M5; No Motorsport 1 Series | Straightline Blog on Edmunds' Inside Line

There are 2 M5 versions being tested, one with KERS and one without.
