I understand the DSP amp is not very good and an upgrade is worthwhile. While I did upgrade the speakers and subwoofer with a dedicated amp with a kit from BSW years ago, I don't know if I will get a noticeable improvement from an aftermarket amp nor what to buy. I'm not going to spend much on an amp, my focus is go fast mods, I'm not into audio performance. My intention has been to get the Seicane unit up and running with DSP and see if the sound improves but I am past sick of this.

Do you know if there is a fuse on the DSP amp that even with power going into the amp it wouldn't work? There must be a reason I lost the 20 seconds of sound. I can't find any setting on the Seicane that would matter if I have inadvertently changed. There is a DSP coding section on the IBUS amp that I have checked but thus far all it does is take me to the equalizer, not to any coding options.

Sorry about your trouble redliner. I too reached boiling temp last summer with DSP amp not outputting audio with my Eonon. Finally drove to audio shop nearby, they quickly identify the issue with trigger wire and recommended to go with aftermarket amp because DSP amp was on its last leg (audio was on for 45s then quit). Purchased an Alpine MRV-V500 and kept OEM speakers. I felt like this kid who had just put on hearing aids for the first time since being born deaf. Loving it.

Apparently there is coding necessary to keep the amp on. I doubt that your amp was on its way out if it worked with your factory head unit.

The aftermarket amp is definitely the way to go in terms of keeping the frustration level at bay. And doesn't have to cost too much if you aren't concerned with crazy power levels or stuck on brand names. In my case I'm going big though as I am a quasi-audiophile and I miss my 1500w+ stereo systems. Since my X5 is no longer needed to haul anything I'm going with a completely custom setup (5 channel amp + 4 channel amp) and maybe some fiberglass thrown in for extra fun.

Time to sell the BSW setup I suppose to help fund some of this wackiness.

I was noticing that. Do that with my X5 and your pants would be on fire. High is WAY to high in my opinion on mine.

Usually I put it on high for 30 seconds and then go to low.

I forgot one day about a week ago. It hurt. ALOT.

I actually thought I caught something on fire.

I appreciate the effort but unless the connector is taken apart I can't tell which wire goes in to which of the numbered slots.

Do you have a suggestion for an adequate amp for a non audiophile whose primary goal is only to trash DSP amp for something that I can tell is better but would be never be considered by a audiophile? I am sitting in my man cave garage downing a glass full of Jack Daniels on the rocks that I only drink when my father in law is around just so I don't throw the Seicane unit against the door.

I sent a critical email to Seicane about after sale service and told them exactly what my minimum expectations are and exactly what I needed. As always I got an instance return email that it is off hours and when they are working they will answer my email within 24 hours. At this point I regret not purchasing the Dyavin N6 even though the Seicane has greater versatility and is more the state of the art. I expect I will be spending more in total to get the Seicane to work properly than I would have if I had paid more for the Dynavin N6. At least with the Dynavin unit I could call the US distributor and get something done. As it is I have had a hole in my dash since a week prior to Thanksgiving.
