I used Mobil 1 full synthetic high-mileage 5-30, the weight spec'd for my 04 4.4i. I've always used Mobil 1 and no problems after 21.5 years. I went to the high-mileage variant to protect the seals and gaskets... still only ~48k on the clock. I change the oil every year, even though annual mileage has been between 1k and 2k for 10+ years. Perhaps unsurprisingly, I've never had to add oil.

Replaced the broken central door lock/emergency flasher switch. Redid the forever black on all the exterior plastic. Lasted about four years from the first time I did it.

Nice feedback on the forever black.

I messed up my central switch with a drink spill and was able to totally refurbish the switch macgyver style with no tools. (the switch was repeatedly clicking itself).

How did you fix it? On mine the plastic tabs had cracked on the bottom of the switch box so the central lock switch wouldn't work. Emergency flasher switch worked. Tried pressing it back together and taping it to hold it in place, but no joy.

Yeah mine just was shorting out from sprite.

It popped out with a dime came all apart with I can't recall and I used spring water to rinse it out.

It came all apart easy and back
Together. But nothing broken on mine so it was a permanent fix
