Puwahahaha…. Add another one to the list! A glorious list! A list that consists of M3’s, M4’s M5’s, competition variants etc!

And now a Ford Lightning (0-60 4.0 Seconds)!

What did I do to my E53 today you might ask? Punched the hell out of that OLe’GiRL in second gear, grabbed 3rd something vicious, and blew the doors off of a Ford Lightning. LoL…

I built my '83 C10 to out run the 2000's Ford Lighting trucks. It's time to upgrade to blow the doors off the new lightings.

Dang it, I want a ride in the "E53 RiPPeR".

Went to pick up my X5 from a friend's ranch. I had it parked for two weeks. I needed parking space due to exterior house upgrades. New roof and exterior stucco. Up to 6 contractor trucks were at my house at the same time. The 11 mA draw is real. Alarm on the entire time. Cranked right up.

I do want to be VERY clear about the circumstances. LoL..

The stars aligned perfectly for this “RiP”! LoL.. Here are a few disclosures;

1. Oil temp was above 160, but engine was ice cold.

2. Ambient air temp was 53.

3. Beautiful rolling start in 2nd gear at 25 m.p.h.

4. One heck of a 3rd gear connection.

It’s funny that you joked about the RiPPeR, because I never aggressively shift OLe’GiRL. I’ll rip her don’t get me wrong, but very conservatively. And I’ll NEVER dump the clutch from a dead stop. I was watching this video of a E39 M5 with 400,000 miles on it. Dude was just rippin’ away, I thought dang I wish I could shift like that. And it’s the way BMW’s respond to really good shifting. So smooth! This is the first time the X jumped forward with my shifting style, and it was super quick! Sounded like a high end paddle.

Doors blown statement. I was a car length behind, but I knew he was ready. He had just done a flyby on me, and left me in the dirt 1/4 of a mile if not more. Those trucks are FAST believe me, I’ve seen it! I was coming up to the light. I know my X like the back of my hand. I had the torque zone perfectly lined up. Light hit green, I am a go! He was rolling at about 15 m.p.h. before he laid into it. I was a car length behind at the start. By the end of 2nd I was side by side bumpers lined up, and when I hit 3rd pulled a car length and a half. DONE! The fact the OLe’GiRL pulled….

So doors blown for me is when you’re behind, and walk right on by. I can’t believe that old X had it in her.

Before i got bimmercode i was able to defeat easy entry by fighting the steering wheel when it tries to move, it will over current the motor and disable itself until the next time you manually operate the steering position. (that works on e 70 not sure about e 53)
I tried your 'set it in the seat memory, lock and unlock with key from outside' thing and that didn't work.

I'll try this one. And will post if it works on E53.

Any phone apps that CAN code E53? I have Bimmercode/Bimmerlink for the F30 but E53 is not supported.

Carly obd might work.

Do you have presets to put the wheel/seat where you want and what happens if you use other key?

Wife's e 70 was where i used the tug the wheel trick to disable so that might not work on e 53. FYI : 50-60# of force it wasn't gentle!

I've been busy. Two front cv axles installed. Brake caliper rebuild plus fresh paint. New rotor back plate and new anti roll bar links. Front wheels scrubbed clean inside and out as they were off and today I'm going to clean the wheel arches and under the engine.

Fixed broken door lock actuator front passenger. Works perfectly! Drilled a hole and inserted a wire. Used this video for the fix https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6kF94U6aO9A

Saved me buying a new actuator. Fed up with replacing them. They always break the same way.

That's nearly identical to my "version one" fix for these.

My "version three" uses a metal zip tie no drilling needed.

The metal wire fix is far better than new, that's a permanent fix. (though i have had one DHC break off at the tab where the plastic handle screws onto it.

My fix:

https://xoutpost.com/bmw-sav-forums/...anent-fix.html

When i first fixed one i used 16ga steel wire but rather than twist like bread bag I went around 2-1/2 times and the bends kept it tight. Funny that the 16ga wire just looked like more spring!

Love seeing same line of reason used to make up for the design flaw.

Next: look at the DLA fix if you live in a cold climate where it's below freezing in winter.
