My factory pdc does not show up, but I have not yet dug into why.

A quick update for those who ask questions about OBC functionality after installing the Dynavin N6 unit & removing the OE HU unit.
On 2004 X5 4.4 with DSP no Nav, after installing the Dynavin, below are the functionality you have: OBC: both reset buttons work like prior installing the Dynavin. You can enter the VIN & unlock the OBC, check all the tests incl KTMP & Voltage. The turn stalk is functional, resetting fuel consumption. I haven't tried the clock function - this is probably related to the HU OE unit, and you cannot probably change the date/time, but as I said I haven't tried that. Steering wheel: all buttons are functional and work with the unit, just as if it was the OE HU installed. In both cases, there is no need to splice or run additional wires, everything works plug & play. The only "hassle" is to re-route the Parrot mic, and if you want rear view camera, to route the cable to the back of the car. If you have a OE HU unit, this is a highly recommended mod, the Dyanvin works as advertised, giving a ton of extra features you never had with the OE HU unit, retaining pretty much the stock OBC options (maybe minus the OE clock - I have to research this as posted above). Also, it updates the interior very, very nicely. The screen is re-worked, and tilted down a little more compared with older models, and also the luminosity is re-worked. This was my biggest fear knowing that the X dash is tilted upwards, and thus glaring when driving in bright sunshine could be a very big issue. I tried it driving in mid-day when the sun was at it's brightest point, and I also opened the sunroof. I can say, I could see the screen quite comfortably, without me needing to change the driving position to see the screen. The unit has also the built-in light sensor, which allows to set the luminosity of the screen to the surrounding ambient light. I left the unit on auto-light & set with the sensor. The brighter the sun, the brighter the screen. During night driving, the screen is probably barely lit, but the luminosity is just spot-on, without intruding in your line of view while driving. before ordering it, I was on the fence between this unit and the Avin. The Avin has a totally different screen, which is probably better (has the "glass" screen, like an Iphone), but is Android based, so most of it's functionality is based on the user's phone, which I didn't want to rely on. The biggest drawback however is the fact that you have to re-work the wiring to make it work with a DSP setup, which was the turnoff for me (together with the phone-based functionality) The Dynavin N6 still works with your Android or Iphone, no problem, and for me that was what I was looking for. I can stream music if I want via Bluetooth (no wires needed), hands-free phone, GPS & radio which are the main features I use, and wanted for a double din. the rest is just icing on the cake. Great product.

Well Dorin, you sold me. Now to come up with the $700 for the modification. It's the most proper aftermarket but OEM looking setup I've seen to date.

I currently have a SpecDock set up for Iphone/Ipod integration. Will I still be able to somehow utilize the dock, or will the only options be BT/Aux? I prefer a dock over Aux (because of random wires lying about) and over BT (because of battery life.) Also get to charge with the dock. Haven't done any research on this, just off the top of my head.

I have a USA Spec ipod interface currently as well, I guess I'd probably sell it if I got the N6.

Gotcha, thanks. That would kinda spite me to lose the SpecDock, butI guess you can't have it both ways!

I'd actually be stoked to lose my interface, would be awesome to not have to control my phone by looking at it (i.e. on the N6 just plug it in and control from the touchscreen!), as I really keep it in there for playing music. Could also use BT on the phone and stream Sirius if I hook up the iP5 as well

Yeah, gues you got a point, the dock does place it in an awkward position. Oh well, I won't be going there right away yet. I'll have to find some way to make a dock work with an N6 thru a usb connected dock.

This may be a stupid question but I am currently having radio issues with my cucurrent 16:9 navigation would this effectively replace all the parts that could possibly be broken or bad? I am ready to be done with 9 year old radio components. The car does have DSP and an aftermarket sub with aftermarket amp (previous owner). Thanks
