Not with a Mk3 no. You are at the end of the road version upgrade wise with the Mk3 ... the only way to upgrade to better/faster is by installing a Mk4

OK..after 2 years I am still a NOON when it comes to Navi.

Let me set the stage..
1) I have a custom screen built for me by another X5 world member so I dont just get the BMW logo when the system boots up
2) The last OS upgrade I did was 27(maybe .1)
3) I have a new Navteq map upgrade I bought from someone returning their lease.

None have been installed, and frankly I am not sure if the order makes a difference...but if someone could simply tell me what to do FIRST (ie, download V32 FIRST, then the Navteq upgrade, then the splash screen...I would greatly appreciate the advice.

Vehicle is an 06 X5 ergo Mark IV DVD drive.

Also, I need to know how to get the Gas stations to appear on the Nav screen. I was down to fumes coming home from Bethesda on Tuesday and for the life of me could not figure out (yes I read the manual) how to have the little gas pumps show up..

I appreciate your help and advice as always..

Thank you

to edco:

- dowload v32
- change the splash screen
- burn disk
- make the navi update
- insert map DVD
- enjoy ;-)

Try to clean the DVD lens (by cleaning disc for example). If it will not help it seems that you have to look for another navi device or buy new DVD reading mechanism

A quick OS update question from a "Noob"....ME!!

Just bought a CPO 2005 X5 4.4i with 29k miles, and quickly found this great forum. LOTS of great information here BTW. I am heading out to the dealer for another issue and want to know something.

I have the MK-IV DVD Nav system that shows the following Software Level for the OS. ( SW 4 - 1/50 ). Should I ask them to update the OS software or am I already at the latest more current version. I would do more searching on this massive forum, but my appointment is in 3 hours and I am basically trapped at work.....well.....working.

I am told all OS updates are at no cost while you are under Factory Warranty, which I am until November 2009.

I really appreciate any input and advice you can offer.

You are at Ver. 26. Ask them for Ver.32 or at least 31 so you will be at 4-1/100

v33?

I just wanted to say thanks for everyone's help and advice. I was able to update my 06 MarkIV to v32/31 without any problems.

Has anybody heard anything about v33? It seems like the updates were coming out every few months and now it has been over seven months with no updates....what's going on?

Thanks again for all your help and advice!
