Yes, just burn on the disk (use burn image from ISO function) and follow the instructions for the navi update

RANGE ROVER MKIII

I'm looking for any help. My navigation screen is blank but the radio still works. I've tried to download new software from this site but it isn't working. Does anyone know where I can get the software for Range Rover MKIII?

Question

Hi all,

I don't have an X5, but i just bought a 03 745i (Canadian Spec.) and i wanted to upgrade the firmware on the navi and the whole idrive system.

I've read up on installing the firmware and what not, and i don't have the DVD in the back of my E65 but the CD navi. So what version should i load up? V32?

I tried once already with the image burned at Mode1 and it just sat there for almost half an hour installing the second part. I'm guessing it froze up.

I thought i made a mistake so i burned a new CD in Mode2, but this time it wasn't even loading. Afterwards for the next few hours nothing would show up other than a blank screen when i went into navi. However, it reset itself after a while and it was asking for me to insert my navi cds.

What i'm trying to do is make sure that i have the latest firmware for the navi and the whole system. Then i would like to go ahead and customize it a bit.

On another note:
Is there a specific forum for the E65's? I love the car but can't handle the fact that it doesn't read mp3 cds...I have to figure out a way to get it to read them.

What version do you have loaded now?

The last versions released for the E65 were:

NAVI01: 7.3.2 (no longer in development) (CD)
NAVI02: 8.4.4 (no longer in development) (CD? DVD?)
NAVI03: 09.08.02 (still current) (DVD)

Access Service Mode via the iDrive controller to view the SW versions

To access service menu in i-drive cars:
1. From the main menu display, press the controller down for minimum 6 seconds.
2. Turn the controller 3 increments clockwise (to the right).
3. Turn the controller 3 increments counter-clockwise (to the left).
4. Turn controller 1 increment clockwise (right).
5. Turn controller 1 increment counter-clockwise (left).
6. Turn controller 1 increment clockwise (right).
7. Push down on the controller.
8. To exit the service mode, select the return arrow at the bottom on the left of the screen.

hi, so i downloaded from the link but when i extracted and opened to changed MDF to ISO, i cant find MDF. Any help would be appreciated thanks.

here are the instructions i followed from another post. which was for v26

Mac Users, this is how I burned the nav os cd:

1) change the mdf to iso
2) in Toast, under the Utilities menu, select Mount Disc Image and choose the "bmw v26 software.iso" file.
This creates a disc image on your desktop called "NAV_SW" with 54 items contained within it.
3) Go back to Toast and select the Copy icon (from Data/Audio/Copy/Other)
4) Go to the pull down menu next to "Image File" and select the nav software (you should see the cd icon and "NAV_SW" pop up
5) Click Record
6) select your speed, click Write Disc and Voila! Works like a charm. Good luck...

I upgraded my NAV today. All worked perfectly.

It took me 6 mins for this upgrade to V32.

By the way, I burned my CD-R at 24X and my MKIII can read it. I guess the most important point is to "BURN the CD IMAGE in MODE 2". Plus I just used some non-brand CD-R.

Hope this Help.

Thank you all X5 board's Members!

Hi Jochen!
NAVI02 is only a DVD-model.
