OK, just make sure that the navboot is roughly the same size as the OEM as if its to big it will corrupt the flash.

Any number you like as long as its over or under the one you have loaded.

Open the v32/v31 image in ultraiso (or similar), extract the 2 .tbl files from the directoy:
<drive>:\V_2\RR\0101\BMWC01S

Onto you desktop, make them read/write and then open it in an HEX editor (like Freeware, PSPad )

In the first line you find something like: 31 30 30 30 This means: 1000 So: Software-Version 10.00

Just edit the last 30 to 31 and you nav unit will think it's a new Software Version and you can update your v31/v32 without prior downgrade to V29

The next time you update, you can edit it back to 1000 or 1002 etc...

Use imgburn, it will allow x1 speed burns (and its free).

Edit this
10100507Voices/0507/

to

10110507Voices/0507/

and

1010app_sw/

to
1011app_sw/

Just make sure both are the same.

Sounds like the burner does not like the blank cd's, I'll pm later (as I'm going out now) and see about sending you a good disc.

Question 2008-2 maps on a single-layer disk?

How did you modify 2008-2 to fit on a single-layer DVD?

My E39 has a Mk4, but I cannot get it to read dual-layer disks (despite running 4/1-100), so I'd be very interested to know how to get the maps onto a single layer DVD.
