No, mine is made for the UK only, you need to mod the OS so that it works for your mk4.

The first thing is to turn town the alert, press info and look for the TP option, and then use the TP- to reduce the volume.

If this does not work, have a look at the GAL setting in the radio service menu.

the only other thing to to is use the 2nd language as the off, let me what your 1st, 2nd and 3rd languages are.

eg: mine is GB, USA, and GER.

John I would like to offer you a big thank you. The disc worked on my MKIII Thanks again for all your help in getting my MKIII up to date. Im going to keep this MKIII as a spare as Ive now got an MKIV installed in my car as of last night. What a difference!!! My cousin and I got an excellent deal on 2 MKIV units from a dismantler here in the USA.

Here is a picture of the software. Is this the most current? Also, when I go to the Camera Alert it changes the language and all of my menu options are no longer in English. Im not sure which language it is. This software already came installed on my MKIV so I didnt touch it yet. Does the nightmode version on page one offer the Camera Alert in english when turned on? Thanks

That is an early mk4 OS image and is for the USA, the alert on/off is for when you have a POISon modded map disc (so you can turn off the alert).

It will do nothing as you (probably) don't have a POISon modded map disc.

The "alert on" is the primary language (US in your case), however it looks like Spanish is the 2nd language, and the 3 is *Unknown*.

There is a updated US version of this OS on the forums somewhere.

John, my map disc is a copy. When I ejected it the DVD was a burned disc. Im going to be in my car in a few hours. I know for sure that theres a red light camera right by me. Its been there for 10 years now. Ill test it out. Whats supposed to happen when I approach thise red light camera? Does it beep or anything? Only one way to find out

It will depend on who made the disc (copy) and what mods were done to it.

If the disc has been POIson modded (and has the red light cameras loaded), then you should get a beep when you get close to it.

Read the POISon thread it give a good account of the Mod and it's caveats.

Sounds good buddy. Ill go ahead and try it out when I pull my car out later. This MKIV was pretty modded already. Ya never know what this burned DVD contains. It came with the unit and I have no information as to who made it since the MKIV came from a salvage yard. Ill report back if any beeping occured when I approach this specific red light camera.
