I really hope that after four years, the middle class will climb up in numbers, that they improve on their financial situation, and the inflation goes down in a meaningful way.

p.s. Housing shortage seems to be a long term issue at the moment, so I won't hold him or the next president accountable if it doesn't get better.
True it from the Whitehouse and the Trump is added in front to denote which administration you are looking at. If you were to enter it as Whitehouse archive when you search for information on a specific administration it will show it in front, i.e. Biden, Obama, etc. But this is the National Archives format, not sure how to give a source that isn't a news site although I thought that the archives would have held some gravitas so people wouldn't be thinking it was slanted for or against. Live and learn I guess.

I'll admit that as I was following along a bit on the campaigning before the election that I might have voted for Trump myself if I lived in the US, but I had no idea that he would be such an asshole towards Canada and try to take over Greenland and Gaza and extort the Ukraine. Did you guys who voted for him expect this??

Greenland... It was done as ploy to get it more secured against Russian movements/threats. (It worked)

Canada.... Was done as a threat to get Canada to secure its border as they agreed in a law they passed 7 years ago (it worked too)

Gaza.... Similar deal of threat of outside interference to get other Arab countries to knock shit off. (doubtful it'll work completely)

Tariffs.... worked against Mexico, Colombia, Canada, etc.

US used to be home to many foreign customers who come from all surrounding countries to purchase everyday items because we had the best prices and largest quantities.

Now there's no financial benefit and these people have stopped coming.

The chinese vendors imports to their countries directly because the tariff there are low.

Thousands of businesses are affected. Many of them closed.

What are the financial effects? You go to the wholesale district of downtown Los Angeles, and the streets that were once jammed packed with customers from all over the south american countries have all but disappeared.

Tariffs are meant to make things (from other countries) expensive so that local items are of either equal or cheaper, driving local businesses into producing them which keeps the funds local.

As for the missing crowds in LA, most of them are leaving, hiding, etc because they're illegal aliens. People from Mexico/Canada who cross the border to do some shopping do so legally. Therefore the crackdown doesn't affect them, it actually is a great example of just how many illegals you have/had and to be very clear people from the "surrounding countries" other than the two I mentioned weren't coming to the US for shopping as you implied. No one crosses through the various other countries to come to the US "to shop" so a Panamanian isn't driving (highway 1) 3,000 km for legal entry they would fly and that's a Miami entry port with a visa and neither they or anyone else is going to pay for Chinese crap in the USA that they can purchase in their home countries for less.

How long do you make threats that aren't serious and still be taken seriously?? Did you know this is what it was going to be ?

When he was campaigning he was "threatening" China with 100,200,300% tariffs and now it's 10% for China and 50% for Canada ??

The Canada tariffs threat lasted 48hrs and then Canada finally enacted the laws they had promised 7yrs ago to secure their border.

China has somewhat started curbing their shipments of precursor chemicals for fentynal, supplying to medical/research companies. I would venture that it's bullshit and it won't actually make a difference.

He also said he was going to regulate bit coin and I was thinking that goes together with going after the cartels but then he ends up promoting it.

Yes, that was unfortunate, I think we were more focused on drugs, guns and illegal immigrants coming over the US border into Canada and should have been helping you guys out more for what was going the other way.

Unless we are being misinformed though, what was going the other way was less than 1% of your problem and I think the way the border works is that most of the responsibility is for what is coming into each country. But for sure it's better to work together.

I don't know where the 48 hrs. comes from but even after agreeing to toughen up on the border (which, yes, we should have been doing before for our own sakes) and "I think" buying some helicopters from you guys to do so, Donald Trump said it doesn't matter and doubled down on the tariffs afaik sitting here in Canada.

I'd like do get your take on BitCoin while we are at it.
