my understanding is that unless you have an interface adapter that sits between the mp3 player and vehicle, the USB port will only be able to charge an MP3 player only not sync with it

I do have a E53 2004 Diesel with full Sports Pack, Kalahari Beige Metallic, BMW 19" wheels (no marks) with new michie tyres, new rotors & brakes in Jan 2007 ($5,000.00 worth), sun roof, TV (sat-nav will cost $2k to get installed if you want it as it already has the large screen computer), 6 stacker CD (MP3 compatable), IS front and rear spoilers installed by BMW dealer and cost just under $5,000 (also have the original painted front bumper as spare) plus silver kidney & bonnet grills, xenon lights with washers, walnut trim, window tint, towbar, side steps, full size spare wheel, 78,000klm & just spent another $1,150.00 for a full service last week, as new $67,500.

Any takers, my new X5 is here in about 3 weeks.

You select Cargo Tracking (bottom right) then Auto Cargo and enter your VIN. It is the long number you gave.

Amazing what info you can get publically from that website. Here are the VINs of all the cars on that boat under the same bill of lading:

Not sure how often they update their website but it looks like I'll miss the 29/5 shipment as my VIN comes up unknown !!! My VIN has much later serial (LZ146xx) so I am presuming it's in the queue so to speak !! The dealer is less than helpful.. just telling me not to worry .. which makes me worry even more !!!

My VIN is LZ142xx and it is on the boat for delivery in brisbane 11/6/07 so yours might make the 29/5 boat. They deliver the car to the dock and are on the boat within 2-3 days of manufacture.

Thanks watrob...

I've also posted this in another thread... about the 12v socket in the centre armrest...

I've done some research and if you get Bluetooth then it appears you don't get the 12v socket.. for those buyers in Australia getting the Executive you may not have a socket for your ipod charger... unless you go the USB option where the ipod will power off this...You apparently don't get the 12v socket if you have any of these....although in Australia we get the Storage compartment package as standard ... meaning I think you will still get the 12v socket with this option...The list that does not get the 12v socket according to the parts catalogue is:

FOR VEHICLES WITH
STORAGE COMPARTMENT PACKAGE
OR
PREPARATION, MOBILE PHONE, BUSINESS
OR
PREPARATION F MOBILE PHONE W BLUETOOTH
OR
PREPARATION F TELEPH.INSTALLATION JAPAN
OR
PREP. MOBILE PHONE USA UNIVERSAL

This may be incorrect but this is according to the parts catalogue....Not sure if anyone can confirm this ? See the diagram below... the parts catalogue indicates that the part labelled 3 is for those options listed above..

I had a look at a X5 E70 executive the other day and I pretty sure I saw the socket, my dealer is just around the corner so I might check it out.

I hope so.. it doesn't seem to make any sense NOT to have it... as both of the panels have the phone cradle option... Wish my damn car would get here so I could stop looking at the internet !!!!
