Hi Big Dog,

Did you get sports seats in your car or did you stick to the comfort seats

Comfort seats based on his posted pictures. I still think that dealers could not be offering the sports pack with Comfort seats as there is a delay on them (the seats). I think they are offering a free sports pack on 4.8's with the sports seats in lieu of the Comfort seats... seems to be the only logical option given that Comfort seats are currently delaying cars ?

I was one of the few that got comfort seats, others that ordered later were offered sports seats or refund of deposit. The good thing about these seats is that you press a button and the side boulstering pumps up from flat to beyond that of sports seats, as you turn off the car they deflate and reinflate (automatically to last position) when you start the car. You can have them pumped so they you gripp you tight for sporty driving but are flat on entry and exit of the vehicle which makes it easier to slide on and off the seat.

Yeh, my car is getting the sports seats but I have demanded that it has the electric lumbar support added which is another option.

So I am presuming that you didn't pay for the lumbar support ?

Corp discount was because of the company I work for they qualify for the corp disc sceme (they have a special name for it which I cant remember) which also means cheaper finance and free servicing for 3 years - if u work for a big company u may be able to get it

Disc off includes the dealer delivery that AC builds in to the price unfortunately no choice in WA- I did get them at the end of the month though when they are desperate to get their quota and so towards the end I was getting them to chuck in stuff (eg anti dazzle comfort windscreen for free/ xenons etc for a for half price

Funny one Jamesboag.
My X5 Diesel Exec goes into production on May 14th.
They are going to put the Aero Kit on NC.
Also giving me 65k for my old X5 Diesel as it has lots of extra's on it plus "IS" Front and Rear spoilers.
Should have the new X5 first week of July, orderred the Exec with Adaptive Drive & Self-leveling Susupension, Adaptive Steering, Adaptive Lights with Xenons, Heads-up Display, 20" Wheels with Sports Pack, Sun Roof, 3rd Row Seats, Sideboards, Sports Seats with Electric Lumbar Support, Space Grey colour, also orderred the silver kidney front grill from the 4.8 V8 to replace the black one that the diesel's come with.

I checked out the new sports seats they are alot more comfortable than the old sports seats that I currently have, they have deeper padding, they are wider & higher and have better side support.

The back seats now have reclining which is great because the backseat in the old X5 were a back killer and much to hard.

Watrob, you should have just ordered the V8 to save you adding all the extras. The difference in fuel consumption and maintence costs are comparative. The diesel service is every 15K and V8 25-30K km, in the real world the diesel uses 2-3 l/100km less than the V8 so in running costs are on par.

Hi Bigdog,

I like the diesels, I do 250klm city driving each week and then I have a 325klm weekend run to our beach house which also includes a 28klm of beach driving. With the diesel I use a tank every 2 weeks, with a V8 I would use a tank each week, I also pull a trailer and or a jetski.

The resale value of a diesel in 3 years will be better than the V8.

The V8 comes with self-leveling suspension if you order the 3rd row seats as does the diesel but adaptive drive is still an extra as is alot of the other options I wanted. The exec diesel base price is cheaper than the V8 so by the time I order all the options I want my end price is still much cheaper than the V8 as is the rego. Also diesel fuel on average is cheaper in Qld as well, I am paying at least 5c per litre less for it. I filled the old X5 diesel this morning and it cost me $100.85 for approx 90 litres (2 weeks usage). I would have used more 90 litre in one week with a V8 that does 16 -18 litres per 100klm.

Interestingly When I got a price on a v8 with the same options as the diesel it still came out to about $20K more Watrob is right - alot of those options are options on both models
