it's been around for a couple of years on the X3 and one or two other series as well I think. I'm not sure if it's just the 3.0d with a second turbo or not, but I suspect that it'd be at least a modified 3.0d

Hey James, how you going.

My new X5 twin turbo goes into production next week, delievery end of Jan 08.

What odds do you want to give me on whether it drives left or not?
I also got comfort seats this time, I am also debatting whether to get the dealer to replace the 20" wheels with 21", he got a couple sets sitting on the show room floor.

Since my little disagreement with BMW I said I would build my own 4x4 to show them its not all that hard to build a vehicle that drives straight.

I see you are a true believer, its not the hunt but the thrill of the chase.

I considered a SOA but with the 7" extension of the rear end chassis for the fibreglass tub I felt that was enough.

Converting the FJ40 to a 2H Toyota diesel, Dakar springs and rear disc brakes was enough, the chassis was hot dipped in Gal. The extended fibreglass tub goes on next Tuesday and then a full repaint.

After battling with BMW after I handed back my X5 E70 3 months ago I needed something to do. I get my new e70 twin turbo at the end of Jan08 so the FJ40 should be finished by then.

I have arranged castor bushes for the new X5 because as my old e70 as well as this one will drives left as they are designed for LHD and the castor is set for that. It needs a 5mm adjustment on the LHS.( Have to engineer my own bushes because BMW are worried about the legal problem by admitting they have a problem), at least Mercedes brings castor kits into Australia for there cars, and to top it off the head engineer in Australia for BMW is a ex Mercedes Benz engineer and he knows about the castor kits for the Mercedes cars, arseholes are'nt they.

The RACQ tested my last E70 and agreed in writing of the castor problem but since BMW think they are GOD it just shows why you get nailed to a cross.

Anyway, its embassing for them, the marketing guy rings you and does not now his castor from his camber.

They stopped talking to me once they realised the Bu--sh-t did'nt work. Does not matter whether it's a BMW or Bip Bip Berina they all make mistakes, it's just some companies can admit there mistakes. The quicker lemon laws come into Australia the better off we will all be and the car companies only have themselves to blame. They treat the average consumer as an idiot and they think they know best but every now and then it bits them in the a--e. It's not everyday that someone buys a $140,000 cars and turns round and drops the keys off and says stick it up your a--e.

I suppose not to many people can afford it but jesus it felt good and the look on the faces was worth it.

Anyway the new E70 arrives at the end of Jan08 and won't that be interesting when I take it for the test drive?

At least the service dept does not bul---t me any more, all I can say is stick up for your rights!!!
