Sapphire black with black interior, aluminium trim, sports package, Y spoke 20's, ARB & sunroof.

Plans for headrest DVD system, remote radar detector, 20-grade tint and remap of some sort.

Anyone sourced Vizualogic DVD systems in Oz or had their diesel chipped/map/tuned?

Looking forward to any feedback.
Am in Perth myself at the moment.....

Marco is THE MAN at Auto Classic service... get to know him and all will go smoothly for you. He arranged for Invision DVD headrests to be installed by their service guys for me (I imported they installed).... and he is very knowledgeable about the X5's..

Cheers

Auto Classic's sticker price came to a smidge under $130k driveaway, ended up getting them down to $125k. Played them off with eastern states dealers when they dropped the "We dont discount" card on me. Also complained furiously about how the Auto Classic base prices are nearly $5k higher than east coast dealers/ BMW.com.au's price list.

Yep, get to know Marco. He is the best ! I got so cheesed off dealing with some others that, while he was on holidays, I just waited until he got back...

Yes, that old "no discount" thing... When the X5 diesels first came out, I heard that story like a broken record but ended up with about 4% off with some extras thrown in too. The extra dealer delivery charge they now add is criminal, nothing less. I just wouldn't pay it. You just need to be patient , haggle and haggle more...

See if you can qualify for the Corp Purchase plan. A private buyer just subsidises the free servicing, discounts and reduced dealer delivery charges that the "chosen few" qualify for.

yeah I know Marco pretty well too. We always take the p*ss out of each other when I drop in.

Interesting that you got a $5k discount. I won't be going into battle until the end of Feb when the car gets here but I've bought before off the guys who are selling me the X5 and they did the right thing by me then (no sales talk etc because I'm often at Auto Classics) so I know I wont be paying sticker price either.

Yep, I tried that to no avail.

I got a $20k discount by buying in Melbourne, it will cost me about $2k to get the car to Perth. I was pissed off, I buy a lot of cars in WA with contacts at most dealerships, there is 1 BMW dealer in all of WA (2,1 million people) Melbourne must have around 10 amongst 6 million people.

There is an article in todays paper about Auto Classic being up 105% on last year. They are making a killing!!

I asked for a $7k discount to buy it locally, they wouldnt budge even though it inclded $30k worth of options...

they can get stuffed for that...

BMW need to get their shit together in WA.

BMW Australia don't seem interested. There are three Mercedes dealers in WA and some other brands like Volvo even have two. It isn't good...

Did you also read that Audi outsold BMW in Perth/WA 1.5:1 last month ?

My problem with driving a X5 is the whole "client unfriendliness" thing. I am seriously thinking of buying something else less pretentious as driving a BMW in a work enviroment just seems to bring out the worst in people these days...
