I did get front n rear BMW rubber mats n luggage mat "free".
EdwardL, about the same optioned 35d was offered around 130k by Doncaster BMW, I would have felt more ripped off.

I really should try a different dealer.

Saddly, my current x5 30d had an accident yesterday. mum borrowed it and didn't give way when changing lane. Side and front panel will all need to be replaced...

Sorry to hear about your car... your mother's ok I hope...?
Yeah I don't understand the disparity in prices plus with 2011 model coming you'd think there would already be factory support on older models?! I definitely suggest shopping around, although I did and I still got ripped!

Edwardl

I dont want to hurt you more, EdwardL, but with that price (or even a few thousands less) you could get a 35d with all those options drive away. I can tell that because after I bought my X and I help 2 of my friends to buy their X with that sort of price range.

Thanks x5TT, way to make me feel better... not!
I should have stuck to my guns and pushed harder but I needed a car yesterday, so I just ran out of time to negotiate and wait for the dealer to come down in price. I offered dealer $112,500 but they told me no chance. So I walked away and waited a couple of weeks but they didn't call so I was forced to call them because I needed a car, so at that point they had me. If only I had known about this forum beforehand... Oh well.

I reckon ...

you would be pushing really hard right now to get all that for $117k driveaway for 35d with all that kit ... msport and 20's alone add a fair whack and innovation package is $10k ...7 seats adds more ..and then extra such as paint ... the dealer would have be be very desperate at that price --more like $120 min I would have thought ...

I just paid $112k driveway for my 2010 with Innovation, running boards, USB ipod, sports steering wheel, & sunroof, and BMW premium protection (paint, leather, tint, and ding insurance) ... an ok deal given the RRP is still $105k excluding on road and with zero options ...

Must admit though $117k for 3d is a little rich - but it does sound very nicely speced up .... arguably you could get a slight less speced 35d for same money if you can be bothered searching wide and far (interstate) ..but sounds like for many that's just a painful long process ... I don't think the $$ paid are too wide of the mark, so enjoy!

its clear that dealers are still not giving these things away .. and that's probably good for all of us at the end of the day ...

I picked mine up Friday - some photos attached ...

Fingers crossed that your new one treats you better than the old one. Good luck. (Surely, one person can't get two dud cars in a row!)

Congrats, looks Nice.

Regarding prices, I went to look at the new Prado the other day and was quoted over 92k for top of range . Now I know its a very different vehicle, but if you can get the 35d for 112k driveaway with those options I know what i'd prefer!

And then there's the mighty (not!) 127kW diesel engine in the Prado. What a joke. How can they sell a 3.0-litre diesel with 127kW when BMW gets 210kW from a 35d. The Prado's engine even makes less power than a 2.0-litre four-cylinder BMW diesel. The only reason to buy the Prado would be if you want a capable off-road vehicle, or outback tourer. And then you'd be better off with a base or mid-spec so you could kit it out with aftermarket stuff without going over the GVM.

did that, neither of them have a worthwhile alternative, the Q5 is small, the Q7 is massive, the cayenne is on the way out, and for $100k odd you'd be getting a base spec car that is about to be replaced. perhaps a genuine alternative is the ML, or something from Lexus, Volvo etc...
