Gone up a bit ...

I locked in at around 9%, but believe its going up this week (today) probably by .25 or .5 %. I actaully 'purchased' my vehicle a week earlier to avoid the increase (this was BMW's idea ..so good for them for letting me know about pending rise)

I think you could shop around and do a little better ..but at the end of the day BMW finance is really easy to establish, and they take care of all the stuff like interest calc to make tax time easy etc ... I think that swapping/exiting vehicle could be arguably more flexible as well (as you are giving them business and not someone else ..so that carries weight) ... I think corp plan can also knock a little off if you ask (preferential rates) ..if eligible etc.

Good luck - but move soon as I reckon the interest rate landscape is going to change really quickly in Aus ...and that will pass down to BMW at some point soon ....

agree, they gave me 9 as indicative, but that's without the corp. package and without the negotiating, will aim for 8.

let you know of the outcome.

Hi all,

I've asked the question before but got no reply... in case it was just missed...

Does anyone have clearbra or similar on their x5, and/or know of a good supplier/installer in/near Brisbane? I've found a few shops online that I could order a kit from but I think it'd be better to have it professionally installed because I have problems just putting on a screen protector on an iphone!

The other mod I'm looking to do is changing the exhaust tips - does this void warranty if done by non-BMW dealer e.g. local muffler shop? I'm thinking quad round exhaust tips like in the x5M... Anyone know a good place to source exhaust tips?

Thanks in advance.

Don't know about clearbra but I can see why people may like them ..

on my black 325i I had back in 2001 I did one Melb to Syd trip and the bonnet looked like it was the victim of re-entering the earths atmosphere after losing a few ceramic tiles

Quad tips - suggest a welding torch and a close mate to keep guard whilst you work your way under an unsuspecting X6M either in 1) Toorak 2) Mosman - depending on where you live they wont miss them ...

I remember somebody else with a signature saying 'looking for quad tips' or something like that ..so suspect its not something 'Bob the BMW accessory guy' at your local dealership is going to know about ... anyway he'll be too busy trying to chat up the sales and/or reception chicks to take calls ...

As far as I know BMW Australia hasn't mentioned anything about a possible release date. I guess they are gearing up for the mid-year update with the 40d, 35i and 50i and will look at the hybrid sometime after that.

iPhone 3G and 3GS snap-in adapter for 6NF option

Hi all,

I have both the 6NF and the 6FL options on my e70 x5 30d. I was never told by the dealer that:

1. to get iphone or ipod working with 6FL I would have to buy a "Y" cable
2. to get iphone working with 6NF I would have to buy a snap-in adapter

In fact, what I was told was it would all just work with my Apple USB cable that came with my iphone 3G and 3GS, and ipod touch. So after paying for these options, I now find myself needing to fork out more to be able to use them! Why can't they just be upfront and tell the whole truth in the first place!

Does anyone else have these options, and did you have to buy the cable and snap-in adapter separately? Do you have a part#, price and cheapest place to source these?

Thanks.

have the y cable in all my cars, works well, but! it does not charge the iphone. the local rrp is around $140, but have seen it online for as little as $50 USD.

i asked my sales rep to include it and every time he did, without charging me, as well as an umbrella, jacket, 2 x hats...

You're absolutely brilliant at negotiating .dee! on top of low price you get freebies...wow! my dealer, and I was dealing with the General Manager directly, gave me nothing but rubber floor mats and luggage mat
Next time I'm gonna have to ask you to broker a deal for me lol
