Nice one wslee .. the new 30d LCI sounds nice .. 180kw now with 540nM I think .. almost as quick as my 35d

Getting xenons and power tailgate is a fantastic choice ..I didnt have either in my first 35d ..and when I got the innovation pack I was a lot happier ... power tailgate is great for tossing groceries and kids school crap in when you hands are full ...now if only it was voice activated e.g. "open boot" ..even though with BMW crap voice recognition the car would probably turn the TV on or call my grandmother or something like that ...

Guys

Go easy on jammit ..he's obviously feeling a bit anxious about things and suffering a degree of potential cognitative dissonance (buyers remorse) ...

jammit .. if you are feeling a bit ripped because your dealer was unwilling to disclose details of new 2011 model then perhaps call them and tell them that as part of the feedback ... lets face it most sales guy's wont tell you because they want to close a sale quickly and move stock ....with LCI (as most are saying here) there's not that much to outdate ... more of a nip-tuck thing ..

if you are saying to us that the 30d is not for you and you're looking at higher spec (e.g. 40d, 35i, 50i) then that makes more sense ...

I think when you work through the pricing / options tradeoff of 2010 vs 2011 LCI you'll find you got a good deal esp as prices have gone up in general irrespective of extra goodies that have become 'standard' ....they'll be very little discounting of 2011 stock over the next few months I would imagine (as there's not a great deal of pressure on BMW ..that might change a little as interest rates rise and competitors get into swing of things ..that might offer some haggling space if you really want to swap out to LCI)

Please enlighten us all so that I can stop ranting / waffling ....

Good to see that you can see the funny side of it all. I was beginning to worry...

If you don't need 'off-road' capabilities (for what they are worth) of an X5, why not a 5 Series wagon? Better performance from whatever engine you choose plus better handling. A 540d would be nice but I haven't heard if the 40d is making it into the 5 sedan or wagon.

I had a loaner 520d and must admit I was impressed ... the wife is in love with X5 now (mostly due to ride height and people just getting out of her way

If 40d makes it to new 5 series then I'd put the case to her

Number one rule: Keep wife happy. Everything else will then fall in place.

Yep, I think once they experience the get up and go they get addicted ... my business case for a 540d touring if it ever arrives in Aus would be a tough one ... might need a second job then she can keep 35d for school runs and I'll just get the upcoming M1 (or whatever they end up calling it) for buzzing around in dreams are free ...

Hi Fellas,

Sold my M3 E93 2008 Convertible on Thursday with 14,000ks on it, Brisbane BMW has it. Still keeping the X5 as the dailly drive, always have one of those.

Pickup my new 2010 White Ferrari California - DTC hard top Convertible last Friday night, what can I say, I know a huge jump.

At least both my vehicles are white!
