Sunroof repair under warranty

Hi All Australian X5 drivers... I have an issue with my panoramic sunroof (rear portion will not go down). At repair shop now and fix is $2K. I purchased an extended warranty that claimed to cover all repairs that a dealer would do under warranty except wear and tear. As you can imagine they have claimed wear and tear. Has anybody in Australia had their sunroof repaired under warranty? Please help as this could save me $2K.

You can check out ST George tyres they seem to have fairly good prices on replicas...not sure if there is a 128 replica though....
hi there,
Thanks for the reply,
Thats what i am thinking as well, thinking of getting a set of 128 from US as well, so how much would it cost if i go to a tyre shop and get a set of 21" tyres???

What sort of rims are you planning to get from US?

2010 build, 2011 facelift ? when? what?

Hi all,

I went to a Melbourne dealership yesterday who are offering good deals on X5's that are ordered this year, but which will be 2010 build compliant (good) He said that there were NO changes on the 2010 model year build, (bad) and naturally knew nothing about the pending LCI update for 2011 model (homer says duh)

I would have thought that at least new iDrive would be on the 2010 as the US seem to be getting this as part of current 2010 build. Also (and somewhat more importantly) - sites are saying that the 2011 LCI may start shipping for US as soon as April next year. How long before Australia gets access to that model. ???

Also heard that 2011 LCI will get more powerful diesel from 735d, e.g. something like 225kw and 600 nM - does anybody know anything about this ..I don't want to place order now, receive x5 in March, then learn in April that LCI is just around the corner bigger and better ...if there was a clear year between them then ok, but this sounds like a matter of months ...

I got black interior as I want the black murdered look on a white car, just finished my black matte kidney grills today, no chrome surround.

As for a white interior, my daughter has a current 3 series m-sport white with white interior, you just have to look at the white interior and it gets dirty, my new X5 is a DD so that would diffinitely be out.

Back to Adaptive Drive, a smoother X5 than the sports suspension version and hardly leans in the corners and that's what adaptive drive is all about. A adaptive drive X5 with 20" wheels is smoother than a X5 with sports suspension with 19" wheels.

This is my 3rd E70 X5 with adaptive drive and everytime I get a loaner X5 without it you realise how good it is. The sd version has no turbo lag compared to the standard 3.0d but it uses a good litre per 100klm more but at close to 600nm of torque its the pick, but if your just cruising around the city then 3.0d is easier on fuel.

Sounds too good to be true.. My shipping price was for box within a box with metal straps etc from a US dealer... The biggest risk is damage.. I've seen examples where the rim is dropped in transit... also make sure that the seller guarantees the shipping cost and won't come back with actual after they have got in the door... Vredstein (spelling?) may make a 21" size.. I was quoted $1700 for 20" size these are of course non run flats... You'll also need to take the TPMS sensors off your existing wheels or buy a new set for around $299 USD.

Yeah... i understand what you mean.....a friend of mine bought some rims overseas, and one of them was damaged during the shipping process...but $250 per rims is a bit too much...how much are the wheels?

Thanks...

Wheels are costing $2500 USD for Style 214 about $3100 USD for Style 227m.
