i think there's alot of merit in that... a car is a complex piece of machinery... there are alot of subcomponents and not everything is made by bmw... even if its made by bmw, maintaining quality is...

Here's another contribution to the potential cause of the error. my 2010 35d w 18k miles just threw the error... took it in and my SA says its a bad EGR valve.

a) winter diesel
b) contaminants within their storage tanks

could it be a combination of fuel and temperature? diesel starts solidifying at a much higher temperature than gasoline.... perhaps you should look into changing your fuel source?

i haven't had issue finding diesel around chicago... i just have issue finding the right kind... it seems quite a few of the stations around here mix biodiesel in B5-B20... and alot of the stations...

X5 is a big giant wind brake... its not exactly aerodynamic... whereas a mustang is suppose to be... considering at highway speeds the majority of the energy expended is to "move" air aerodynamics...
