Don't forget that a change in tire size should maintain same front to rear height relationship as stock or with in a few percent. And a change in rim width will change handling. Suggest avoiding any change that increases understeer.

Might want to check out Continental Extreme Contacts. Good value. While not significant the sidewalls are not as stiff as some other options.

^ I second the contis. We run them on the wife's 20's on her x5. Been wonderful in all conditions.

That was the set I had on my E39. for the X5 i am looking at getting 20 in rims.

9.5x20 et? 275/40/20

10.5x20 et? 315/35/20 basically stock oe size.

9.5x20 et? 285/40/20
11x20 et? 325/35/20 the bad thing about this on is that there is only one manufacture for the rears Pirelly P zeros.

Just for a data point for your decision; I'm running 20x9.5 et38 fronts and 20x11 et24 rears. Rears are also running a 15mm spacer. So et9 effective offset. Am running the taller/wider tire sizes you mention.

Looks great Wayne, I looked for the scrubbing bubbles here some months ago, found it on Amazon Australia, but at 60 odd dollars a litre I bought a litre of Jack Daniels instead! Seems your substitute did the job.

Can you get "Oil Eater" there? It's nontoxic, biodegradable and strong enough to eat old dried bearing grease and even oils spots on concrete.

I can't find it here in Saudi Arabia but that may just be because it actually eats oil[emoji38]

Never seen or heard of Oil-Eater but it looks similar to De-Solv-It, which we do get here. What makes this job easier is the use of a foaming aerosol spray - something De-Solv-It doesn't make (although I see Oil-Eater does...).
