The European market like soft compound tyres {Less distances to travel} and the US and Australian markets want more mileage.

Really.

Tire design is all about tradeoff. Increase dry grip and lose wet grip, increase high speed/high operating temp heat resistance and lose low temp plyability.

All season (M&S rated) tires have a minimum void to rubber ratio of over 30%. Many tire purists define all-season tires as no-season tires (all the design/materal tradeoffs that make them work everywhere cause them to excel nowhere).

I recommend anyone looking at the Ultrac Vorti have a 2nd set of "all around" tires on a spare set of wheels.

I have to chalk up another one - installed the Dynavin head unit instead of the OE HU. Updated look for sure, and I got what I need on a day-to-day basis: hands free phone via integrated Bluetooth. GPS is also handy. The other (handful) of features will come in handy, I'm sure (on one of the other cars, I have installed a similar unit, and when I go shopping with my wife, I rather sit in the car and start watching something - like a movie, or whatever, instead of browsing for shoes or underwear.....)

Vredestein Ultrac Vorti UHP Tire - European Car Magazine

One detail.

This tire test I linked in a prior post was done on lightweight/hot hatch cars. Vredestein/Giugiaro Design clean sheet designed/developed/tested the Ultrac Vorti as an Ultra High Performance (UHP) SUV tire. The added weight of an SUV will improve hydroplane performance significantly.

What's important is that YOU like it.

I slapped the first wash on it since the paint shop did their work. I was pretty aggressive on the clear bra, too. The big trip was murder from bugs. I finally just soaked the clear bra in Tarminator and let it soak for awhile. I haven't put it under the lights, but if I can't clear the bugs, I will pull the clear bra and do another. It's been over 3 years anyway. I don't want to deal with it discoloring and being a PITA to remove.

It was nice to get the wheel woolie out and clear up the barrels behind the spokes. Always looks so nice.

Nice, let us know how it all works out then. I don't even own a X5(yet) give me a week or two.
The big thing about the dynavin is no SiriusXM, and that is sort of a deal breaker for me.
