Yes I think it's the Campbell Nelson.they were supposed to move this year but I'm not sure if they did..I just know I found pretty much anything I wanted for the e39...piano black trim , new condition leather seats, etc..not sure about e53's though..

I will have to check it out. Are they priced pretty reasonably? Absolute German Sometimes has good stuff but hey charge a premium.

Thought that at 135k the ccv valve is ready to be changed and found the port to the oil dipstick fully clogged.Decided that I should change valve cover gasket and spark plugs at the same time ,thinking about getting the Beisan vanos seals as well since I'm in there.ordered all the parts and hope to have them by Friday- Saturday to put it all back together .
First BMW for me and really happy about it.Worked on m54 engine before on a friends 528 so pretty familiar with what I'm doing as I started DIY on my cars 2 years ago after reading lots and lots on the forums and practicing on a Saab 9-5 witch I got cheap as a project car .replaced head gasket and rebuilt turbo on that one .

Welcome! Good luck with the work. Nothing like getting to now your new car by tearing into it.

Thanks guys !
Other things I did to it over the weekend :
- replaced the tail lights and side markers with clear ones,
-took the wheels out and scrubbed them clean of all the brake dust and mess that was on the back side( easier to clean them from now on and they look fresh)
-claybared entire car, polished the hood and waxed.
- debadged

You've been busy!

I ordered a bunch of no fun stuff, like redline oils (trans, diffs, tcase), oil filter housing gasket, and aux fan.

But I also ordered paint to color match the lower rear spoiler thing. I am excited for that. I think it looks awesome painted.

Ricky Bobby 10-22-2014 02:36 PM

Lower rear spoiler thing? You mean the diffuser on the bumper?

Joshdub 10-22-2014 02:39 PM

Yeah the diffuser.

I need some wheels and fender flares as well.

Ah the tmv style, yes it will look good on your silver. I debated it for my Topaz but its not enough contrast in the rear for me.

Mine lasted 260,000 miles but I use Shell gasoline 99% of the time and no additional fuel additives.

2002 X5 3.0 264,600 miles
2004 325i 116,500 miles

I think that little bit looks great and really freshens up the X's look, not that it has aged much. I think the Topaz would look good but like you said, it wouldn't be as obvious. I think the exhaust tips make the biggest difference.
