Go with LED tails Josh and you'll have the ultimate E53 rear, I had too many issues with the circuit boards so I just swapped the tails out 2 years ago. Obviously still have stealth bulbs as well :)

Sunroof fun today. The rear getting stuck open in vent mode gave me a little inspiration to remove the rear glass (4 t25s and some wiggling). Cleaned the tracks and replaced both seals: one that goes all of the way around and the one which goes across front lip of rear glass.

Once the rear glass was out the deal change was rather simple. Temps in the 60s today helped.

Old seals were a lot flatter than the new ones.

Still could not figure out how to fix the little "wedges" that cause rear glass to vent up. At this point the motor pulls them forward into vent mode (lifting the rear of the glass) and I can manually move them backward (lowering the glass). The pieces seem solid, the cables move in the track together, however the motor will not pull them backward (lowering the glass). Seems that maybe the common part to break here is not in the tracks but up by the roof motor ?

Anyways leaving the rear screws out of the rear glass indeed allows all parts of the sunroof to function just fine without the rear glass venting.

I will say very marked improvement in the rattle factor. Overall sunroof is much quieter with road bumps now. Seal replace is rather easy once you sort rear glass removal.

You are correct. I need those tails and those tips. If I didn't have to buy snow tires soon I'd be all over them. That is unless the stock ones start acting up.

You can get rid of the "natural curve" 3.0 tips for less than 300 bucks

I'd like to do something about the limp tips. Maybe an axle back like you did, or another company that makes a system that isn't too much louder than stock.

I have Scorpion system on my E30 and it was just a smidge louder than the stock iS exhaust. It is perfect in my opinion. I wish they made a system for the X5.

I recorded a video of it, let me whore it with you guys.

Installed smoked taillights and put In some weather tech floor liners.

Josh I love scorpion! I did the 4.8 exhaust because of price (my friend was parting out), and it's not much louder than stock. I may do an Xpipe later on. All the E53 exhausts are so expensive. I'd probably do Eisenmann if I had the $$.

For the $1200 they charge the Billy Boat is a nice system, I just don't like their tips (oval single tips but not as wide as iS tips)

Make sense? Remus is quiet like stock, but in my opinion find a used 4.8iS axle back and install Xpipe for perfect sound.

I put a set of the weather tech floor liners and they are awsome.

Man I don't know why I just can't pull the trigger on a set of led tails...
Every time I'm ready to order , I take a look at the OEM ones and I keep changing my mind..I tend to like the reverse light design of the OEM ones better than the long aftermarket line but led's are nice for sure...hmm; back to the cave to do more thinking..

I am always hesitant on after market tail lights or headlights, I`ve had problems with them getting full of water/condensation inside them or even falling apart which happened to a set on my wifes tiburon. and also a couple of friends of mine but some for their vehicles and had the same issues.
