I think that little bit looks great and really freshens up the X's look, not that it has aged much. I think the Topaz would look good but like you said, it wouldn't be as obvious. I think the exhaust tips make the biggest difference.

Which is why I went with the 4.8iS exhaust and am going to install the lower skid plate in the front color matched to Topaxz, should be a good balance.

Dang lucky on your O2 sensors.. For some reason, I always thought you replace them at 120k miles (my bad, it was your spark plugs)....

And your WP is still ORIG :) So unreal!

I was paranoid at 70k miles and did cooling system PM (T-Stat, WP, EXP Tank, Hoses, Temp Switch, Fan Clutch, belts and pulleys)

I was fortunate things break when my vehicle is still on warranty+extended warranty.

Out of pocket repairs: Rear Ball joint (Passenger Side), Alternator, Door Carrier, B-Pillar Clip, Body Module (General Module), Hood Emblem, CV Boots, Misc Door Rubber Seals, Trunk Lid Grip, FSR, VCG, Power Steering Suction Hose, Power Steering Line to inter-cooler.

Well, the water pump was original until about two weeks ago! I did kick myself for not getting it replaced when I did the 240,000 mile service which included the belts and hoses. But there wasn't any indication of any problem until the telltale low coolant warning started appearing nine months later. It would have reduced the labor hours by 1/2.

Good thing you were not stranded, the low coolant gave you "hints" that its time to replace the WP. Versus myself, I got carried away with all the parts I replaced :)

That is Lake Pepin (Lake Pepin - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia) just south of Redwing area. Apparently Lake Pepin is the birthplace of water skiing. We live closer to Mpls but were out for the drive.

How long have you owned the Thule Terrapin, any noise, rattles. from it? I have a Thule roof box but I'm not too keen on the wind noise, although it is not too much considering the size. Have not tried it yet on the X so no idea on gas either.

Anyone interested in Non-Oxy gas I just found this site:
Ethanol-free gas stations in the U.S. and Canada

Sorry for the delayed response.

Terrapin doesn't rattle at all. It locks in place with a unique, threaded locking pin. Really holds it in place. Not one rattle during my cross country drive from Vegas to DC and back in 2010. No rattles (or noise) at all. No effect on mileage other than weight effects. License plate light attachment is fragile and positioned poorly. If you tilt the box all the way back the attachment breaks. Ugh. Otherwise a fantastic product.

Looks good with painted valance. At first glance, I thought it was 4.xIS rear valance.
