good list of module descriptions.

doors lock after x km (16_km/h)

VERRIEGELN_AUT_AB_X_KMH
VERRIEGELUNGSSCHWELLE
VERRIEGELN_XKM/H_SENDER_1
SENDER_2

The last 2 lines are for setting the 2 keys as well. So doesn't matter which of the 2 keys you use, the doors will still lock after 16km. Sorry, I forgot which module these are in, but I had this code written down when I coded my x5 and I really like this option.

actually do it for all 4 senders incase you are not using your original key anymore (technically one of mine is 3).

Also, you can change the speed that the doors lock at as well,

VERRIEGELUNGSSCHWELLE
16_km/h

can be changed to:
00DE VERRIEGELUNGSSCHWELLE THRESHOLD SPEED FOR SPEED DEPENDENT VEHICLE LOCKING (LINKED TO [VERRIEGELN_AUT_AB_X_KM/H]) 009B klemme_r terminal r (key in position i - accessories) 027E 4_km/h 4 kilometers per hour 027F 8_km/h 8 kilometers per hour 0280 12_km/h 12 kilometers per hour * 001D 16_km/h 16 kilometers per hour 0281 20_km/h 20 kilometers per hour 0282 24_km/h 24 kilometers per hour 0283 28_km/h 28 kilometers per hour

Great info.
How can I tell what functions are in a module. I exported a few modules but if I know the function how do I know which module should I make the changes to?

In this particular example you mentioned LSZ module but I cannot find it in the list.

you just have to sort them out. Remember, there are very few modules that can actually be changed. You can read them, but there is nothing to really changed.

Lights are LSZ

Chassis stuff, locks, etc.... is GM3

I think there is some stuff in IHKA you can tweak

maybe Kombi ( I want to change my SIL).

but most of the rest is best left alone.

Dont screw with the dsc, abs, DME, etc....

Thanks.
I wonder if you came across an options for the DME, EWS that will tweak the sw to leave the tranny in 2nd when coming to a complete stop... would that be an option? maybe? I am not sure if I have the guts to try but I was wondering if that's possible. I remember a guy on e39 forum a while back said that be design his e39 with 5hp18 doesn't downshift to 1st gear unless the car comes to a complete stop.

that would be in the EGS, which I dont even think we can read with NCS....

sorry guys, i was out of town, test driving the 335 that my wife wanted... and then, so many other things... Slick, i tried to send you the ZIP file with the coding tool, but the email bounced back... i need to clean up my PM box, but not tonight... i'll get to it tomorrow...
BTW, did anyone try the PWM_BIX line for the highbeams on at the same time with Bi-Xenons? I have not, as I barely see the car in the garage, it is either on the road with my wife, or i am driving it - 15K in 5 months, way too many miles... lol... I can't wait when i put her behind the wheel of her own 335... lol... she drives too much... lol...

Now that is winter I like the REST feature (turns the auxiliar water pump and the fan to keep warm the interior) and I was wondering if this can be turn on automatically when I turn the engine off.

Ok so choosing KMB, for lcm is a fail. Was getting same error. Chose KMBI, lcm is now coded. Removed corner lamps, cold monitoring AEs off, license CM off. Now time to test stuff. I do this quite easy now. Lol.
