I understand your question now. I did not see anything in the factory programming that would suggest that this function is available.
The function is turned on by a telegram sent over the iBus from the IHKA and that activates the residual REST operation. Such a telegram can be sent by an external aftermarket (self-made) module that connects to the car's iBus. For example, the StealthOne module can "press" the "ACCEPT" button on your behalf, thus eliminating the annoying screen from Nav display. I do not have a box like that, nor can I make one - but there are people out there who have accomplished similar tasks - check the iBus Hackers on the yahoo groups - the folks there use Melexis IC chip (or Ressler iBus adapter) to connect to the iBus and use a computer (old laptop), that listens to the traffic on the iBus, and sends out pre-programmed commands if specified criteria is met.... For example, you can have your laptop listen for the ignition turning off, and then, in a couple of seconds the laptop would send "REST" command, thus activating your function... I am not aware of any other way of achieving your desired results... :( |
The only thing I can find that deals with coolant and climate control stuff is.
Remember Recirculating Air Setting after shutdown UMLUFT_MEMORY - default is nicht_activ Independant Park Heating STANDHEIZUNG - default is nicht_activ Coolant Damping KUEHLWASSER_DEDAEMPFUNG - default is 25_sekunden The independent heating could be the wabasco (sp) heater for diesels. So not sure. |

Dennis- do you have your lcm file handy? I did something last night and now my headlights are always on in auto mode regardless of how bright it is outside.

independent heater is Webasco indeed - not just for diesels but also for gasoline/petrol engines as well... In Kazakhstan, for example, it is an absolute necessity to have one!! even in Moscow they were installing them...

you have the same car type as I do - you do not need to do any programming in the NCS. As you drive, press the button MAX/REST and the A/C should kick into the overdrive. Once you park (after a relatively long drive), turn the car off, pull the key out, press the key MAX/REST, and the A/C should kick in with the warm air coming into the cabin. Test it and let us know if it worked as described. |

fmugur, please read what Qsilver7 posted in post 117
The rest feature will not work in the summer, basically when you actually need it most, above 59 F. My suggestion is to tap into the aux pump wiring, and make a circuit to power it on for a set amount of time. I think civdiv should be contacted regarding this. |
