If they do go with a 1-piece hatch, I'm glad I got my 2010. I like the 2-piece feature.

Please, please, please have the tt and a two piece hatch. I've waited over a year and a half. Please. I hope this does not sound like begging.

If not it will be a '10 X5M for me.

I LOVE the 2-piece hatch. It is quite unique and useful - I can pack in much more stuff without having it fall out :)

They need to stop screwing around... the "improvements" are turning me off the new model...

I hate to derail this thread but why do people like the two piece hatch so much? Not saying it's not to be liked, just wondering why.

I think a one piece is too minivan-ish...the 2-piece is functional for me as i can also use it as a seat to tie my boots when snowboarding.

Dealer input from buyers/potential buyers is that auto tailgate is only half-assed job as you still have to open the bottom part. The competition does not have that issue.

That's exactly what I was thinking.

I also get the point about being able to pile stuff in without it falling out.

The half gate is a mobile chair, table, picnic/work bench, and gear packer. It also requires a h*ll of a lot less clearence than a one piece. Who wants an auto opener anyway?

This is one feature the X5 has over the competition ... including the X6.
