That has been a regular use for ours too! Although of course it is a nappy over here!

I also use it for changing shoes when cycling, walking etc. It is just too darn useful for sport!

I hate one piece tailgates, if you don't stand back when you open one they hit you in the head or chest and in some case open to far and hits the garage door if its still open and has slid sitting below the ceiling if its a tilt-a-door type.

Plus the current system is great when on a picnic, you also don't have to lean into the back when using it as a bench, your legs don't touch and wife's dress does not get dirty from the back bumper when loading as the tailgate keeps you clear. There is plenty of good reason why a split tailgate is the best.

I cannot tell you how many times the Ikea packs have jutted out the back with bottom section down and top hatch part closed!:thumbup:

I told "my" salesman (he's sold me 5 bimmers ... 3 of them M-cars) about the possible one piece hatch and he was shocked. He kept repeating why would they do that, that is part of what makes the X5 unique.
